It's been less than a month since The CW let us all know that The Vampire Diaries was safe for another season, and we've already got our first spoiler: Kat Graham is bidding farewell to Mystic Falls.
The Swiss-born actress has played Bonnie Bennett since the very beginning so it's pretty hard to imagine the show without her, but she spoke candidly of her plans to Us Weekly at the iHeartRadio Music Awards on Sunday:
"Season 8 will be my last season. I just hope that whatever I do after, the crew can come with me. If the crew can come with me, then we'll be good. The crew is going to be the hardest thing to let go, because we are a family."
We're going to miss you, Kat! But she assures us that Bonnie will be going out with a bang:
"You know what, another season is a whole other year, and we’re going to blow it out."
And it sounds like we've still got a lot to look forward to this season as well. We've already seen Bonnie recovering from Tyler's attack and teaming up with Damon to take down Rayna, but Graham went on to reveal that her character has some seriously emotional moments coming up in a couple of future episodes.
"There’s some really intense stuff with my character this season. I think the biggest episodes I’ve ever had are 20 [airing April 29] and 21 [airing May 6]. It's pretty major for the character — huge turns, a lot of stunts and cool shit!"
We can hardly wait. Whether The Vampire Diaries will continue at all beyond the eighth season remains to be seen but one thing's for sure: if it does, it will have to do so without its Head Witch In Charge.
