With The Walking Dead Season 6 done and dusted, we're basically doomed to six months of uncertainty as we analyze that final scene again and again, trying to glean any sort of clue as to who got brutally Lucille'd. But while some have been busy scrutinizing the order of Negan's song, Reddit user cellocaster think that they might have solved the mystery another way; and I have to admit, it's quite convincing.
Cellocaster's theory uses the fact that in that final scene the audiences doesn't see the victim, instead we see Negan and Lucille from the victim's point of view (POV). However those POV shots at the end of the episode weren't the first POV shots in the episode. Remember all those shots in the back of the van?
Cellocaster decided to further scrutinize all the seated positions of the characters in these scenes to figure out whose point of view we were seeing from.
The first thing cellocaster notes from the POV shot above is that the person is sitting in the back of a van "with a brown-haired, non-dreadlocked person" to their front left.
When the scene cuts to another angle, we see that the character sitting at the mystery persons front left is Daryl, with Michonne sitting behind him. Of course, cellocaster acknowledges that there's a possibility that the characters in the van swapped their positions, but given that they're all "in pretty bad shape," it seems more likely that they stayed in the same spot for the whole time they were in the van.
Thanks to this shot, cellocaster deduces that our point of view is from the center-rear of the van, not from Daryl or Michonne's positions.
Next we see Rosita emerge, and it appears as though she could have been sitting across from Michonne, or perhaps behind her. However because there's no definite way of knowing where Rosita was sitting, there's a possibility she could be the point of view character, along with one other:
Glenn Rhee. As Glenn exits the van, he appears to come from the center-rear of the van, which cellocaster has figured out is where our point of view character was sitting.
So, with two possible people being our POV character, who does cellocaster think is more likely to have been Lucille'd? Definitely Glenn. As they explain, everything seems to point to Glenn: the fact that he escaped death in the first half of the season, his loss of "purity" after he murdered his first human (and then a whole bunch more), him finding photos of victims of Lucille, and finally there's the fact that his comic book counterpart dies in the same manner. This may just be one theory, but I gotta admit, it's pretty near convinced me. What about you?
Who do you think is Negan's victim?
