Last night Universal Studios hosted a celebration to commemorate the opening of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Los Angeles. The event brought in talents like Tom Felton, Evanna Lynch, and James and Oliver Phelps to help introduce J.K. Rowling's magic to us lonely West Coasters.
Also present was legendary composer John Williams, who set the musical tone for the Harry Potter films by scoring the first three in the franchise. To help honor the special occasion, Williams conducted the Los Angeles Philharmonic in a Harry Potter medley.
The 33-minute video, provided by Inside the Magic, will make the heart of any Harry Potter fan soar like Hedwig in the night. Skip ahead to the 25-minute mark to hear the moving medley and see colorful projections representing each of the Hogwarts Houses across this stunning new castle.
Although we weren't lucky enough to be in attendance for this momentous occasion, the video alone is enough to move most Potterheads to tears. This performance was a treat for the eyes as well as the ears. Check out each house's projections below:
"Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw, if you've a ready mind, where those of wit and learning, will always find their kind."
"You might belong in Hufflepuff, where they are just and loyal, those patient Hufflepuffs are true and unafraid of toil."
"Or perhaps in Slytherin you'll make your real friends, those cunning folks use any means to achieve their ends."
"You might belong in Gryffindor, where dwell the brave at heart, their daring, nerve, and chivalry set Gryffindors apart."
Just call me Moaning Myrtle because I'm starting to tear up over here. I don't know about you, but I'm already itching to pick up my tickets and ride my Nimbus 2000 to Universal Studios.
