As Sleepy Hollow heads into the finale, possibly its best yet; FOX still hasn't renewed the supernatural show based on colonial history. Lucifer, Rosewood, Empire, and Bones have already received renewals for next season, as did comedies Bob’s Burgers, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Last Man on Earth and The Simpsons. Only Family Guy, New Girl, and Sleepy Hollow remain in the void.

Sleepy Hollow, in its third season, has proven it has a solid storyline with a strong fan base that still tunes in. Although the show has been moved to the notorious Friday night slot, it has not hampered the quality of the episodes as it nears its climatic finale. The show has beautifully intertwined the world of the supernatural with colonial history, making our country's founding fathers heroes in the fight against the forces of evil whilst they battle the British for independence.

Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) and Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie) have taken on a wrathful pagan god called The Hidden One, played by Peter Mensah (Spartacus), while dealing with the trappings of his wife, the legendary Pandora (Shannyn Sossamon) The finale promises a blast of drama, possibly giving Sleepy Hollow the best push toward a renewal as ratings have improved significantly at the end approaches. The show also added a couple of new twists, one involving the death of a recurring character (no spoilers here) and another with the famous Betsy Ross, played by Nikki Reed.

Fans of the show will be treated to one hell of a showdown as The Headless Horseman makes his return in the finale as well. Hopefully, when it's all said and done, Sleepy Hollow will get the renewal it greatly deserves.

Should Sleepy Hollow be renewed for a fourth season?
