The last episode of CBS's Supergirl left fans fuming at a cliffhanger of a kiss, with them waiting two weeks for the next episode. Well the wait may have been worth it, as a trailer for episode 19, "Myriad", has revealed many things for fans to look forward to in the two-part season finale.
The promo reveals so much for the upcoming finale, including new villains, old villains and as always Cat Grant with the pearls of wisdom for Supergirl. First off, the promo reveals the return of Laura Vandervoort as Indigo.
The last time we saw Indigo, was as multiple pieces on Non's table after taking a nasty virus courtesy of Supergirl's best friend Winn. Obviously Indigo being a living computer, related to Brainiac himself, means that this was more a really bad cold for her to get over. So now she is back in one piece, we can see how Non plans to use her abilities to take down the girl of steel with his master plan. The trailer also reveals soldiers at the D.E.O meeting a woman with bright red hair and later the same woman in combat at the D.E.O.
The woman in question is Maxima, set to be portrayed by Eve Torres. In the comics, Maxima is the oldest child of the Royal family of the planet Almerac, the fiery-tempered Maxima came to Earth in search of a suitable mate to sire her heir. However it seems in Supergirl, she is set for a different story all together as she could simply be made into an already captive Krytonian. Or, could she now be aware Non is a single man and has decided to join him to simply have him grant her a child? Perhaps, but it is more likely Maxima will simply be a big foe for Supergirl to deal with in the episode. The trailer also reveals that not all have fallen to Non's plan of being controlled to follow his will.
Cat Grant and Lucy Lane both appear to be acting of their own free-will in the trailer. While it shows Lucy and another Soldier clearly firing in the D.E.O headquarter, it does not necessarily mean they are free of Non's control. However with Maxima making her escape from the facility, it is more likely they are the only two free of Non and able to give resistance to her escape. Cat on the other hand does what she does best, give Supergirl the verbal kick up the butt she needs to continue fighting. The final big moment from the trailer is, the Spider-Man effect.
We clearly see James fall backwards off the balcony, which is set to make Supergirl go in for the rescue. But is that Winn behind him on the next balcony also taking a leap to his doom? Even if it is not Winn, Supergirl is set to choose who to save and who to let die in the same way Spider-Man had to choose between innocents and Gwen. With an action packed finale, Supergirl may see a spike in ratings and finally convince CBS to give her a green-light for a second series.
