In 2014 it was announced that one of sci-fi's most terrifying monsters would be returning to the silver screen for the first time in years.
Shane Black (Iron Man 3), who will be directing and co-writing The Predator alongside Fred Dekker (Night of the Creeps), has kept pre-production events firmly under wraps, but we might have our first bit of casting information as of today. And the person in mind could come as a surprise to you.
In a radio interview with 99Jamz UnCensored, rapper and entrepreneur 50 Cent revealed that he's been in talks to have a role in the film.
“I’m working on some new projects. You heard of the movie Predator? I might be a part of that project this summer.”
Cue the collective "Whaaat?" Of course everything for The Predator is in very early stages, so nothing is confirmed yet. That being said, this could be a fascinating piece of casting.
For the last 10 years, Fiddy has been extending his reach to other fields of entertainment aside from hip-hop. With titles like Southpaw and Spy to his credits last year, it seems as if his acting career is only getting started.
Also reportedly in talks to work with Black is Predator original Arnold Schwarzenegger, who commented last month that he would be discussing the sequel with Black over lunch:
"I haven’t talked with [Shane Black] yet, but I’m going to meet with him for lunch sometime soon. Just as soon as I’m finished with [Arnold Sports Festival] and The Apprentice, and all this stuff. But I will get together with him. If there is any news, we’ll of course let you know right away."
Schwarzenegger and Fiddy? Sounds like the kind of strange pairing you never really knew you wanted.
'The Predator' is set for release on March 2, 2018.
