The trailer for Rob Reiner's upcoming comedy-drama Being Charlie was released today, courtesy of People. After premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival back in September, there has since been a long wait on the future of the film until it was picked up by Paladin for distribution and a release date of May 6th was set.

Being Charlie stars Nick Robinson (Jurassic World), Morgan Saylor (Homeland), Devon Bostick (The 100), Common and Cary Elwes. It was co-written by Nick Reiner and Matt Elisofon and directed by the legendary Rob Reiner. The story centers on Charlie Mills (Robinson) "an 18-year-old who breaks out of a youth drug treatment clinic, but when he returns home to Los Angeles, he's given an intervention by his parents and forced to go to an adult rehab. There, he meets a beautiful but troubled girl, Eva, and is forced to battle with drugs, elusive love and divided parents."

Robinson has been very busy as of late, starring in Jurassic World and The 5th Wave as well as signing on to star in Krystal which will be directed by William H. Macy and stars Rosario Dawson, Felicity Huffman, Kathy Bates and Grant Gustin! Big times ahead for Mr. Robinson!

With a healthy mixture of comedy and drama, the trailer is full of funny and powerful moments. With big names as supporting characters and a young talented cast to steer the film, it could end up being quite a remarkable outing from the iconic director of When Harry Met Sally. Expect to laugh and cry at this one! I know I'm really looking forward to it!

The trailer itself is actually the best trailer I've seen in quite some time (we all know about the negative recption that many trailers have received this past year) and it has made me anticipate the film even more - I look forward to watching it when it's released!
