Star Wars has added to its growing mountain of awards with three MTV prizes on Saturday, not in the least of which was Adam Driver's for Best Villain!
Driver's stellar performance as moody Sith Lord Kylo Ren turned lightsabers and helmets in the $2 billion box office epic, The Force Awakens.
He was up against the following:
- Hugh Keays-Byrne in Mad Max: Fury Road
- Ed Skrein in Deadpool
- James Spader in Avengers: Age of Ultron
- Samuel L. Jackson in Kingsman: The Secret Service
- Tom Hardy in The Revenant
The 32-year-old was also in the running, in the same role, for Best Fight with Daisy Ridley for their lightsaber thrash-out, which was lost to Deadpool's Ryan Reynolds versus Ed Skrein — as well as partly for Best Ensemble Cast, which went to Pitch Perfect 2.
Driver's performance in the role has also been nominated for a Georgia Film Critics Association for Best Ensemble and Online Film & Television Association Award for Best Ensemble.
In the movie, Kylo Ren is the bad boy son of Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Princess Leia. He is supposed to be in the next Episode where we should learn more about his mysterious identity.
