There's still little less than a month until the release of Captain America: Civil War, but Marvel has already started with the press screenings. If that weren't a good enough sign (usually, movies that performed poorly in audience tests are shown to the critics just shortly before the official release date), the majority of critics came out of the movie hyped, some even calling Civil War their favorite Marvel movie ever.
Along with the release of a new clip at the MTV Movie Awards, showcasing the fighting skills of Cap, Falcon and Scarlet Witch, it seems like we've got plenty of stuff to get excited about. Taking from the critics' Twitter feeds, here are five things that should definitely make the movie a success.
1. Spider-Man (And Ant-Man) Steal The Show
Apparently Spider-Man lives up to the hype he started when he made his entrance at the very end of the Civil War trailer. Several critics agree that this version of Spider-Man is the best we've seen yet, so get ready for Tom Holland's big breakthrough.
And although we haven't seen much of him in the teasers, you shouldn't forget about Paul Rudd's Ant-Man, because it looks like he's bringing his share of amazingness to the screen.
2. Black Panther Deserves His Solo Movie
With so many strong characters, you'd think that it'd be hard for the movie to get them all right — still, Chadwick Boseman is awesome as well, and creating new expectations for the Black Panther solo movie. You thought you would root either for Cap or Iron Man? It looks like you're going to find some new favorite heroes to love.
3. The Airport Battle Scene Beats All Battle Scenes
"The best superhero action scene ever" is one hell of a statement to live up to, so let's hope we get to share that feeling when the movie arrives in theaters. What's for sure, though, is that what we've seen of that notable airport scene in the trailers is merely a fraction of the action.
4. 'Civil War' Is A Lot Of Fun
Obviously it was impossible to give a review of Civil War and not compare it to its big competitor, Warner Bros.' Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. What seems to distinguish Civil War from its superhero showdown counterpart are the jokes and the good ol' action fun. If you've seen Batman v Superman, you know it's pretty bleak, but Civil War avoids that vibe while still being very emotional.
5. 'Civil War' Is Emotionally Packed
Early March, the first viewers of Civil War had declared that it ended like "an emotional horror movie." What's going to be hard to watch is that both sides could be right, which is so much more difficult but so much more rewarding than just having one true hero who saves the day.
Convinced yet? I'll leave you with one last tweet from Uproxx writer Mike Ryan:
Captain America: Civil War is coming out May 6, 2016.
