Paramount Pictures has released an action-packed trailer for their upcoming film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows. Watch the trailer below, and then join us as we count down our Top Five Moments!
#5 Buh-Bye New York City
We've seen Raphael's failed jump in previous teasers for the film, but upon further inspection, this scene raises a couple of questions. It doesn't look like the turtles are flying above New York City, so where exactly are they? It makes one wonder what was so important that the turtles not only had to leave the sewers, but New York too? Where do you think they are?
#4 The Shredder is Raising the Stakes
In the last film, The Shredder wasn't handled as well as he could have been. It also didn't help that there were some behind-the-scene shenanigans. Fortunately, it seems that the sequel will correct those wrongs, as this Shredder appears to be more menacing. This Shredder is also raising the stakes since he is turning to mutations to build a powerful army to go up against the likes of the turtles.
#3 Enter Bebop and Rocksteady
We've known for a while that Gary Williams and Stephen "Sheamus" Farrelly will be playing the humorous, yet dangerous Bebop and Rocksteady, and we now have confirmation that the purpose ooze will be yet again be the reason behind their mutation. We also got a glimpse of the humor that these two will undoubtedly bring to the big screen. On a side note, does anyone know where we can purchase those bikes?!
#2 Krang and Dimension X
There is no doubt that Krang will enter our world through Dimension X. For those uninitiated in TMNT lore, Dimension X is an alternate dimension from which Krang hails from. Krang is a brain-like warlord who often clashes with the turtles.
Dimension X may be how Krang enters our world, but it may also be the gateway to introduce other wild characters from the TMNT universe, such as the Triceratops and the Neutrinos (yeah, that's a thing).
With Shredder building an army, he most likely has hopes of taking over New York (or the world...why build an army and not rule something?). Which raises the question, will The Shredder be against Krang and his minions, or will they work together to end the turtles?
#1 Turtles or Humans?
At the start of the trailer, we see Mikey watching the Big Apple's Halloween Parade from the street grate. We then hear him remark on how Halloween is the only night of the year when they get to fit in. The film's subtitle, "Out of the Shadows," is appropriate as It seems the film will explore the wants and needs of the turtles to leave the shadows.
Fortunately for the gang, the purple ooze that transforms Bebop and Rocksteady into their animalistic counterparts, happens to be the key to turning the turtles into human. But not everyone is onboard with the plan. Leonardo doesn't seem too thrilled at the idea of being human, as he shoots down Raphael's plea, and says, "We're turtles, whether you like it or not." It's going to be very interesting to see whether or not the brothers will end up being human by the end of the film, or if they'll have a change of heart by the end of the film and accept themselves for who they are.

“Michelangelo, Donatello, Leonardo, and Raphael return to theaters this summer to battle bigger, badder villains, alongside April O’Neil (Megan Fox), Vern Fenwick (Will Arnett), and a newcomer: the hockey-masked vigilante Casey Jones (Stephen Amell). After supervillain Shredder escapes custody, he joins forces with mad scientist Baxter Stockman (Tyler Perry) and two dimwitted henchmen, Bebop (Gary Anthony Williams) and Rocksteady (WWE Superstar Stephen “Sheamus” Farrelly), to unleash a diabolical plan to take over the world. As the Turtles prepare to take on Shredder and his new crew, they find themselves facing an even greater evil with similar intentions: the notorious Krang.”
