With Captain America: Civil War coming in just a few short weeks, fans are just super hyped and are going to either choose team Cap or team Iron Man. But we are going to talk about what we will expect from the new MCU movie which is set to start up Marvel Phase 3. And a majority of this will be my own theory. So try not to judge me if you don't see what you were expecting.

1. Sokovia Accords

In the wake of the aftermath of last year's Avengers: Age of Ultron, this will result in the governmental powers to create a special system to register superhuman activity. If you guys have read the Civil War storyline, you probably already know that the government registration act was due to an incident that was due to some lesser known heroes fighting some villains which ended with one of the villains blowing up the whole neighborhood. In the case of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the government act for the superhuman activity will be called the Sokovia Accords. The comics gave us the Superhero Registration Act which is required to all the superheroes in the mainstream Marvel Comics Universe to register. However, the Sokovia Accords will still be a registration act for superheroes. But it will also come as a result of what happened in Ultron when the rogue AI brought the whole city into the sky and threatened to do away with humanity. Also, according to William Hurt's Ross, Captain America is preferred to some people as a vigilante and that he and the Avengers have operated without political supervision.

2. Cap and Iron Man go head to head with each other

Now if you guys haven't already guessed, both Captain America and Iron Man have been at odds with each other ever since they first met in 2012's The Avengers. I mean yes, we also know that Cap worked with Howard Stark in their fight against HYDRA and Red Skull in Captain America: The First Avenger. But when we first see both Cap and Iron Man together in The Avengers, they sort of disagreed with each other at some points as the films went on. We saw them work side by side in the battle of New York and the battle of Sokovia as teammates. But by the time we got to the farmstead scene in Ultron, both Cap and Iron Man were further down the path that they would go toe to toe with each other.

This scene pitted them against each other in the case of what happened during their second fight with Ultron and the Maximoff twins. But when Civil War starts up, we could see both Cap and Iron Man being at odds with each other due to the new government movement to register the heroes. As we already know, Cap still stands for freedom without supervision. And surprisingly, Stark stands for the Accords and requires that all heroes go for supervision.

3. Cap and Bucky will reunite as friends

By now you guys are thinking, 'How will Bucky fit into all this?' Well, if you haven't seen the post-credits scene in Ant-Man, that is actually a clue as to what will happen with Bucky. Looking back to Winter Soldier, both Cap and Bucky went head to head with each other as SHIELD came crashing down. And we all know that Bucky was found by HYDRA and brainwashed to being the lethal assassin Winter Soldier. But we already know from the trailer that both Cap and Bucky will slowly become friends again as Bucky will side with Cap because he is 'with him till the end of the line'. From friend to foe to friend? That will be so interesting to see how it turns out.

4. New Avengers

I'm sure that a majority of you guys probably have seen the new footage from the film in which the Avengers all work together. In most respects, this is downright true. So at that one scene, the Avengers (Team Cap) work to apprehend Brock Rumlow/Crossbones (more on him later on). But in light of the new movement by politicians, they will have to pick a side.

5. Ant-Man will show up

Yes you heard it right. Paul Rudd as Ant-Man is coming back. If you didn't catch those Easter eggs about the Avengers in Ant-Man last year, here are a few. When Scott Lang preferred to have the Avengers help him and Dr. Hank Pym in their quest to stop Darren Cross/Yellowjacket, Pym said that he was trying to have his tech out of Stark Industries' hands. And that the Avengers were 'too busy dropping cities out of the sky'. This is directly linked to the Battle of Sokovia. And if you've seen that one scene with Falcon looking for Ant-Man, you may have guessed that Falcon wanted him to join the Avengers. So Lang will definitely join the Avengers, that much is clear.

6. Team Cap and Team Iron Man

So you guys probably already know by now who is on whose team. Well, here's a rundown:

Team Cap

  • Captain America
  • Falcon
  • Ant-Man
  • Scarlet Witch
  • Hawkeye
  • Sharon Carter/Agent 13
  • Winter Soldier

Team Iron Man

  • Iron Man
  • War Machine
  • Black Widow
  • Vision
  • Black Panther
  • Spider-Man (possibly)

7. Black Panther and Everett Ross

Where would this movie be without its new characters, specifically Black Panther? Well, Chadwick Boseman is already set to play T'Challa/Black Panther in this movie and his own solo film in 2018. But what about Martin Freeman as Everett Ross? We already know that Ross is a member of the Joint Counter Terrorism Center in the movie. But will he be a link to Wakanda and Black Panther? We'll just have to wait and see. In regards to Black Panther, he is joining Iron Man's team and will probably play a major role in the movie. So excited to see this evolution for the MCU.

8. Brock Rumlow/Crossbones

Now you guys are probably asking 'Where are the talk of the villains?' Our villains in the movie will be Frank Grillo as Brock Rumlow/Crossbones and Daniel Bruhl will be playing Baron Zemo. If you guys don't remember from Winter Soldier, Rumlow had a special suit as he fought Falcon at the final showdown climax of the film. But it is revealed that Rumlow survived the crash of the Triskelion and is now going as Crossbones. Presumably, Crossbones will now be working for Baron Zemo, who could either be leading HYDRA or bringing together his Masters of Evil (more on the next section). But one thing's for sure, Crossbones is definitely out for revenge as he is out to get both Cap and the Avengers.

9. Baron Zemo

I'm sure that most of you know by now that Daniel Bruhl as Baron Zemo is set to be the main villain of Captain America Civil War. But Marvel is keeping him under wraps probably until the movie is actually released. So in the comics, Zemo is said to hold a prison for imprisoned super villains on account of who Iron Man wanted on his team. How this is to be played out in the movie is not known yet. But one can only hope. Some say he will be the new leader for HYDRA and some are saying that Marvel is leaning towards the Masters of Evil storyline. And it is said that Bruhl as Zemo will be returning in a few future films. Also, let's hope that Marvel can stop the streak of lacking their villains. Though they have given us some very sinister characters from Obadiah Stane, Loki, Thanos, Alexander Pierce, and Ultron among others, let's hope that Bruhl as Zemo will deliver the same sinister charm that these previous villains delivered in their respective films.

10. Scarlet Witch will have more control over her abilities

Since it has been confirmed that Scarlet Witch will be returning, we can expect a lot more suave moves from Elizabeth Olsen. When Civil War opens up, Wanda Maximoff will probably be mourning the death of her brother Pietro who lost his life at the end of the Battle of Sokovia in the climax of Avengers: Age of Ultron. But we can also expect to see Scarlet Witch have more control of her abilities than she did in the last film. And it also comes to no surprise that she will rally with Captain America's team. Just super hyped to see how Elizabeth Olsen will take Scarlet Witch up a notch.

11. Sharon Carter is back

Yes you heard it right. Sharon Carter/Agent 13 is coming in. When we first met Sharon in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, she was posing as Kate, who was keeping an eye on Captain America for Nick Fury. But it was later revealed that she worked for SHIELD. After HYDRA infiltrated SHIELD however, Sharon went on to work for the CIA. And we already probably have figured out that Sharon is Peggy Carter's niece. And it is said that both her and Cap will have a romantic connection like they did in the comics. When we find her in Civil War, it can be assumed that Sharon will be working with Cap and his Avengers team. Especially since her aunt is on the brink of dying, there could be a funeral involved. It could be Peggy's. Who knows.

12. Pepper Potts is coming back as well

If you think that Sharon Carter was the only girl in the film aside from Wanda Maximoff and Natasha Romanoff, think again. Because for a while it has been confirmed that Gwyneth Paltrow will be reprising her role as Pepper Potts. When we last saw her in Iron Man 3, Pepper Potts was reunited with Tony Stark and came to his aid in their final battle with main villain Aldrich Killian. While she did not appear in Avengers: Age of Ultron last year, she was mentioned quite a few times in the movie itself. But we will finally be getting to see her again as she could still be running Stark Industries. This will be the first time in three years we have ever seen Pepper Potts in a Marvel movie.

13. Spider-Man is in the mixture as well

One thing that is on everyone's mind is the sudden appearance of Spider-Man. We got our first glimpse of the new Spider-Man at the very end of the second trailer for the film which means that Spidey will definitely be mixing in with the Avengers. With this in mind, Tom Holland will be playing both Peter Parker and Spider-Man since he has a pretty crucial role in the Civil War comics story. Holland is also signed on for his own Spider-Man solo movie. Not much is said about that just yet. But keep your ears open about that.

14. The Marvel Cinematic Universe setting up for Phase 3 and the future

As everyone is already aware, Captain America: Civil War is the beginning of Marvel Phase 3. At first Ant-Man was supposed to start up Phase 3. But it was pushed to being the final film in Marvel Phase 2. Looking forward here, we have a whole slew of new films coming up after Civil War. Especially the ultimate culmination of everything that has happened before: Avengers: Infinity War which will be released in May 2018/2019. How everything will change in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is currently unclear. But we do know that it will be the most emotional film in the franchise to date. Since we now have Black Panther and Spider-Man in the mixture, they will be getting their own solo films as we move along Marvel Phase 3 in addition to Doctor Strange, Thor: Ragnarok, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and more.

So that is pretty much everything I want to cover for Captain America Civil War. What are you most looking forward to for this Marvel movie? Leave your thoughts down below.
