The action's really heating up in both Supergirl and The Flash, with both shows speeding towards epic and game-changing finales. But looking beyond the twin threats of Myriad and Zoom, the executive producers have dropped some hints about future crossovers between the shows, as well as a possible inclusion of Power Girl in The Flash season 3.

Yeah, you read that right.

This is something which has been speculated about ever since the crossover was first announced. Power Girl is the Earth-2 Kara Danvers, who survived her world's destruction in the Crisis On Infinite Earths comic plotline. She's an immensely popular character, thanks to her awesome personality and that iconic costume. So what's the deal with her entrance into the DCTV multiverse?

A Rising Power (Girl)

Although Barry and the gang did journey into Earth-2 recently, we could see the alternate version of Kara in Earth-1. Which is, of course, Barry's world.

Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg discussed the possibility of Kara in The Flash season 3 with Entertainment Weekly, teasing the introduction of Power Girl.

"Yes [she could appear] but... Any Kara that exists on Earth 1 would also have to have been an alien. It can’t just be Kara Danvers from Poughkeepsie."

As Barry told Kara in Worlds Finest, he hasn't encountered any aliens in his world yet. Which means that discovering Earth-1's Kara would mean introducing the Krypton-refugee story to that show, and could prompt the appearance of other aliens.

This could be a tad complicated, and might distract from The Flash's metahuman focused plotlines. But the possibility is definitely there. As for this Kara being Power Girl herself, a fan did address that in EW's Spoiler Room Q&A.

Fan: "Does that mean she could be a potential super (or maybe a power ) girl on his Earth, too?"
Kreisberg: "Sure, different costume, but sure."

A different costume, eh? Well, that definitely sounds like Power Girl to me.

Alternate versions of characters are super exciting, and The Flash just loves to bend our minds with these multiverse possibilities: fans are eagerly awaiting the appearance of the Earth-2 version of Laurel Lance, Black Siren (or Donna Nance). As for whether these two versions of Kara will ever meet, that's entirely possible, considering the future of both shows.

Future Crossovers Planned

The Flash writer Kevin Smith delivered some exciting news to Cinemablend, teasing another team-up between Kara and Barry.

Smith explained how the producers of both The Flash and Supergirl are already discussing more crossover episodes.

"They were talking about the crossover in a way that it was the first of many."

The initial crossover was spectacular: fun and exciting, the episode lived up to fan hopes, as Barry and Kara proved to be the perfect dynamic duo. It makes sense that CBS and The CW are already planning more team-up episodes, though thanks to the shows filming at the same time it could be logistically difficult to manage another crossover. But with the exciting plot possibilities, we're definitely hoping to see Kara and Barry team up again!
