Check out our podcast here if you want to hear us talk about it:
Kara stops the Fort Rozz prisoners from escaping the DEO and incapacitates Lucy who is under Non's control. She then goes to the Fotress of Solitude in search of Clark, but finds Kelex instead. He tells her her cousin is off world tending to other matters. Alura appears and tells Kara about Myriad and that it can not be stopped. The Myriad effect has taken over National City, and even Superman, who had come to help, is under control, leaving Kara, Cat, and Maxwell as the only ones immune. Non appears and forces her to choose who of hers friends to save by having Winn, Jimmy and Kelly jump out the window. She saves Winn and Jimmy, but Kelly falls to her death. She tries to figure out a way to save the city without having to resort to killing Non, but Maxwell is looking at destroying Kryptonians with a bomb at the risk of killing humans. Cat objects prompting Kara to find a alternative. Hearing about the attack on the city from her mother, Alex and J'onn head back but not before Alex tells Eliza the truth about what really happened to Jeremiah. She does however leave out the part about Jeremiah being alive. When Indigo senses the two returning, she fights J'onn and eventually defeats him. She takes Alex, and places her under mind control as Non's payback for Astra's death. While Kara, Maxwell, and Cat are at a broadcasting station to inspire hope into the people of the city, Kara finds Alex outside waiting for her. Dressed with Kryptonite armor and weaponry, she begins to engage Kara in battle.
There were few action sequences in this episode, but we'll take what we got. Hoping for more in the next one. Here's the run down.
Maxima: She is an alien conqueror and love interest to Superman. Born to the royal family on planet Almerac, she visits Earth to pursue Superman as the only man worthy to be her mate. Much like her comic book counterpart. She was able to go head to head with Kara being able to hurt her.
Team Supergirl- Kara found herself working with Cat and Maxwell to try and save the city. Maxwell thought the only way to save the city was to kill all the Kryptonians with a kryptonite bomb he had created, while Cat inspired Kara to just give people hope instead. Although we would love to take the non violent route, there comes a time when you are a superhero, where you need to make the hard choices. Blood may have to be shed when you are dealing with superpowered beings like Non and Indigo. Both sides have valid arguments, which one of them works is the question. We will see if instilling hope in people is enough to save the day.
Kara, Winn, Jimmy and Kelly-It was hard for Kara to see all her friends as mindless thralls. It was even tougher seeing her have to sacrifice poor Kelly to save Winn and Jimmy from falling to their deaths. RIP Kelly. Apparently you were a friend but we never got to know you.
Kara and Alex- Alex should have listened to Kara and stayed out of there. Yes, as an older sibling I get that you want to protect them from the world. But it's a whole different story when superpowers are involved. Stay out of danger so that they won't have to worry about you. Now Alex is Non's personal assassin, being forced to fight her sister to the death.
Kara and Alura- About time she gave some answers to her daughter. If Kara and the DEO had more knowledge about the Myriad, then maybe they would have had time to prepare. Gee mom thanks for telling me that they world is doomed and I can't do anything about it. Good pep talk.
Kara and Clark- Why is he texting and flying. I get that they are trying to do the whole normal thing, but could they get some communicators for something like this. All we get is this tiny silhouette, but it's something.
Kara and Kelex- We love Kelex, but he was just about as much help as Alura. He was made to serve the House of El and didn't some through. Bad robot.
Kara and Non- He actually has a soft spot for her and he showed it this episode. He had so many chances to kill her, but he wouldn't do it. He did however get one of her friends killed and turned her sister into a Kryptonian killer, but he didn't kill her. Kara of course tried to reason with him, but to no avail.
Alex, J'onn and Eliza- J'onn and Alex made their way back to Midvale to say hi to her mom. They told her about J'onn and what happened to Jeremiah. Eliza then told the two about what was happening in start city, prompting the two to go back. Alex was about to tell her mom that Jeremiah was still alive, but decided to wait until the whole Myriad fiasco was taken care. We're not so sure Alex can keep the promise of coming back safe and telling her the truth though.
Alex, Non and Indigo- Alex tried getting through to him as well. He seemed to actually believe her for a second, but then his computer girlfriend changed the subject. So close Alex, but not really.
Non and Indigo- He literally upgraded. From Astra to Indigo. She has this weird grip on him, getting him to see the bigger picture. Yeah she nice looking, but she's a computer dude. She was right about Kara being a problem to them and since he failed to kill her, it's going to bite them in the ass.
Midvale- In the comics, it is a small suburban town located on the outskirts of Metropolis. A Kryptonian rocket ship landed in Midvale. Clark finds his cousin Kara in the the ship. She takes up the identity of Linda Lee. A local engineer named Fred Danvers and his wife, Edna, eventually adopted Linda Lee, and she remained in Midvale for several more years until finally branching out on her own. Pretty much the story of Kara on the show.
Harrison Ford- Calista Flockhart is married to the guy.
Sesame Street-So what if Clark watched it growing up.
Central City, Metropolis, Opal City- Central City on this Earth may not have the Flash to defend it, Superman has succumb to the effects of the Myriad and Cat's kid Adam still hasn't become Star Man. Star City wasn't on the agenda though.
Batman vs Superman Nod- Does this look familiar. Pretty cool if you ask me. And I know. Their on the wrong sides. Oh well. Me no photoshop good.
What's To Come/Theories:
The Danver sisters go toe to toe will one another, with Alex being under Indigo's mind control. The next episode titled 'Better Angels' has Alex at the top of the death list. The question is if Kara kills her or if Alex sacrifices herself to save her sister. If she were to die we hope it is the latter. Hopefully this is the Supergirl/Martian Manhunter team up that we've been waiting for. The last time they were kicking each other's asses, so it will be cool to see them work together. We know they will stop Myriad, but the aftermath of all the events is what we are wondering about. We know this is her show but would it really be too much to ask to get a legitimate Superman cameo in the form of maybe Tom Welling? We can dream. When the show gets renewed we hope that they explore the whole Jeremiah story. Here's a theory. Should Alex die, Jeremiah comes back as Cyborg Superman and tries to get revenge on J'onn for not protecting her. This puts him and Kara at odds when she defends J'onn. With the inclusion of Cadmus we could see character such as Superboy, Match, Guardian and many others. There's so many possibilities, the show just needs to take more chances. Just like they did with the crossover with Flash. They better bring him back on as well or have her crossover. Just our two cents.
Next week is the finale and after this drama filled episode we are hoping it will be action packed. We have nothing against the super drama and it can still be included but it should be a superhero show at its core. We just want to see Kara and J'onn take out the bad guys together. 'Myriad' gets a 9.2 Streaky The Cats out of 10. What did you think about the episode? Leave it in the comments below, we'd love to read them!
