The early reviews for [Captain America: Civil War](tag:994409) are in and one of the most beloved aspects of the film is Tom Holland's Spider-Man, being called "the best Spider-Man yet". This seems appropriate, considering Ryan Reynolds made Deadpool a household name with his performance in the film of the same name... 'Deadpool' not 'Ryan Reynolds'.
Why is it appropriate? Well, because according to 'Deadpool' director Tim Miller and 'X-Men' producer Simon Kinberg, they are working on getting a crossover between the wall-crawler and the merc with a mouth going. During the 'Deadpool' Blu-Ray release press day, Miller stated they:
“have been trying to build bridges.”
While Kinberg added:
“With all of the deals that have recently started happening, we asked if they could get visitation rights to Sony‘s friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. I would love to see it. Both of us are close with [Marvel’s] Kevin [Feige], we respect and love Kevin. If it were even remotely possible, we will find a way ’cause we’d would love to see it.”
If the deal does end up taking place, does that mean Deadpool, Cable and the X-Men will become part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, considering its version of Spider-Man has been the most praised?
While some might be doubtful about such a deal ever taking place and it's completely understandable, let's remember that for Fox to have two X-Men TV shows in development right now, they had to go through Marvel Studios to get it going; so it's clear their relationship between the two studios is in a better place than before.
But what do YOU think?
