As CinemaCon ended its run on Thursday, James Cameron made a surprise announcement that there will now be 4 Avatar equals instead of 3 and that making only 3 sequels was creatively limiting. He said the following when explaining the need for more Avatar installments,

"We began to bump up against the limitations for our art form," he said, "We have decided to embark on a truly massive cinematic process. I've been working the last couple of years with a team of four top screenwriters to design the world of 'Avatar' going forward: The characters, the creatures, the environment, the new cultures."

He also went on to explain that each Avatar sequel will be a stand alone film that together will make a complete saga and will begin in 2018 and end in 2023. So my question is, will these films be more like spin-offs or direct sequels? Personally, I'm still excited but do you guys care or are you over Avatar? Do you also think these sequels will be as successful as the first one? Let me know below!
