Take Me to Valhalla! Why 'Mad Max' Director George Miller is the OG of Feminism in Action Movies BY Daniel Blick
Mad Max: Fury Road is without a doubt my favorite movie from 2015. I haven't encountered anyone who disliked the movie, and there's a good reason for that. Charlize Theron as Furiosa is one of the highlights of the film, she is the true heroin of the film, and yes, she is a woman. New Creator Daniel Blick has written a very interesting piece about Fury Road, George Miller, and his decision to make his main protagonist a female character. "She should be inspirational to all, regardless of what sex they are." Well said, Daniel. I couldn't agree with you more.
Does Deadpool Take Place In The Rumored X-Men Rebooted Universe (And Is It The MCU?) BY Alexander Nicholas Calvo
If you've been following the rumors regarding X-Men Apocalypse and Wolverine 3 closely, then you might have heard that those movies could well be the last taking place in the current X-Men universe that started with Brian Singer's film in 2000. But what about Deadpool, you ask? Isn't Deadpool technically a spin-off movie series? Good point. New Creator Alexander Nicholas Calvo will be able to tell you everything you need to know about this. Check out his argument and let him know if you think he might be onto something here.
The trailer for Rogue One recently dropped and people have got an opinion about it. Some have criticized the female lead, Felicity Jones' character Jyn, for being a 'Mary Sue'. How they came to that conclusion based on a two minute trailer is beyond new Creator Bard Constantine. Your guess is as good as mine, Bard. Not sure what a 'Mary Sue' is? Let Bard fill you in and weigh in with your thoughts in the comments. What did YOU think of the Star Wars Rogue One trailer?
"How do Earth's Mightiest Heroes spend their time when they're not saving the world?" That's a good question, and Avengergram has the answer. Avengergram is a series of online comics using figures made by Hot Toys and they are giving comic book and movie fans a glimpse of the ordinary lives of these extraordinary characters. Check out the Hulk playing rock, paper, scissors with Iron Man, and Spider-Man chilling with Captain America. Discover a side of your favorite superheroes you've never seen before. Oh and don't forget to show these guys some love.
With shows like The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead, as well as countless zombie movies, new Creator James Hooper poses a legit question: where exactly should you hide if you were to ever find yourself in a zombie apocalypse? I'd go straight for the airport, but if there happen to be no functioning planes then I'm pretty much screwed there as well. How about hiding in a castle then? Check out the pros and cons of various locations in James' article and be sure to let him know where YOU would hide.
If there's one thing we've learned from the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, it's that females are strong as hell. While the representation of females has increased not only in gaming culture but also in the workforce, we still have a long way to go. Fear not though, there is hope. In her article, Creator SPECTRUMAKEUPBLOG discusses the portrayal of women in video games, proving that there are definitely a couple of badass chicks to look out for in the gaming world. Look out, boys!
Since DeathstrokeâÂÂs mask was seen in the pilot and Deadshot was introduced, there have been accusations of Arrow stealing Batman villains. Creator Jimmy Hartigan takes a look at this bold claim and comes to the conclusion that though it is a bit of an exaggeration, there is some truth to that statement. What do you think? Is The CW's Arrow stealing Batman villains? Did Jimmy miss any villains in his article? Be sure to check it out and let him know.
Anyone who has seen the trailer or the movie will know that Green Room is not for the faint-hearted. I've only seen the trailer, but I trust Creator Tony Ruggio's judgement when he says it was "an unpleasant experience saved by intriguing actors and some admittedly impeccable craftsmanship." Not sure if you should give this one a go? Head on over to Tony's review and let him tell you why this thriller, starring the likes of Patrick Stewart and Imogen Poots, is unnerving and uncomfortable (but essential) to watch.
While we wait for Season 6 of FX's hit show American Horror Story to premiere, let's play a little game. New Creator Dimaris Leigh has compiled a list of clues that were dropped in previous seasons. Get into that detective mode and let us know how many clues YOU have spotted over the past 5 seasons. Whilst the theme for Season 6 remains unknown and we don't have a set premiere date yet, I think it's safe to say this post will give you your weekly American Horror Story fix. Check it out!
Batman has been around for over 75 years now, and we've been able to admire several different versions of him. In Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Ben Affleck took it upon himself to portray one of the world's most beloved superheroes, which wasn't an easy task considering the backlash. Some say he was the only positive thing about the film, others believe he was the worst part about it. Creator Jacob Hutson gives us an insight into Batfleck's character and the origins of the "killing" Batman, as well as hinting at what's next for Ben Affleck's Batman.
Can't get enough of Creators? We've got you covered!
