TNT’s is banking big on it's new horror block officially green lighting 3 new series. The cable mainstay has ok'd 10 episodes of “Tales From the Crypt” with a newly reinvented Crypt Keeper, which will anchor the TNT’s upcoming 2017 horror block curated by M. Night Shyamalan.
TNT also announced a pilot order for anthology series “Time of Death,” which Shyamalan will exec produce, plus a development project, “Creatures.” The terror-filled programming block is slated to debut next year.
“I’m really thrilled about the way this horror block is coming together with the addition of ‘Time of Death’ and ‘Creatures,'” said Shyamalan. “That such a beloved property like ‘Tales From the Crypt’ is launching our evening makes it an even more unique and exciting opportunity. Across the board, the level of talent has been very inspiring.”
Based on the original EC Comics, “Tales From the Crypt” will be at the center of the weekly horror lineup, guided by the new Crypt Keeper. Plans to revitalize the fan-favorite property was announced earlier this year in January.
Shyamalan will produce “Tales” with his partner at Blinding Edge Pictures, Ashwin Rajan, plus Endgame’s James Stern and Aloris Entertainment’s John Santilli and Dan McKinnon.

an anthology of season-long horror tales that unfold in real time with each taking viewers hour-by-hour through a single “long night of hell.” The first season will center around a murderous psychopath who returns to his Midwestern hometown during an annual county fair to exact revenge on a community he believes destroyed his life. The first season will pay tribute to the slasher films of the 1980s, with future seasons to be inspired by other horror subgenres.
The pilot is written by Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy with IM Global Television producing. Shyamalan, along with IM Global Television’s Mark Stern and Stuart Ford will serve as exec producers.

In development is ‘Creatures,’ a psychological thriller that tells the disturbing tale of two former best friends who at 12 years old tried to cut out their classmate’s heart as a sacrifice to an internet bogeyman they invented called Mr. Gorgi. Fifteen years later, the two women have been released from a psychiatric institute, back back in their small town in Alaska, they start to feel the presence of Mr. Gorgi once again.
