Mad Max: Fury Road was one of the standout films of 2015. George Miller's revisiting of the franchise he last worked on in 1985 was the second most nominated film at this year's Oscars with ten nominations, winning six of them.

It's perhaps not surprising, then, that Charlize Theron has expressed her desire to one day return as the one armed, gun slinging and wheel spinning protagonist, Furiosa.

Following picking up an award for Best Female Performance at the MTV Movie Awards, she told MTV it is something she would love to do. When asked about the prospect of returning for another movie, she said:

“I would love to bring her back to life! Are you kidding? I can see how people are kind of responding to her. I look at my little girl and I’m like, ’yeah, I’d love to play this woman again.'”

Although it is an exciting prospect no one would turn down, whether we would see another Mad Max movie anytime soon is still uncertain. The barren, dehydrated backdrop requires perfect weather conditions, an issue that delayed the production of Fury Road for a number of years.

However, Miller has previously confirmed that he has already written two additional scripts, in addition to Tom Hardy being contracted for an additional four movies in the franchise. In January, Collider confirmed that the director denied reports he would be leaving the franchise behind.
