So, for those of you who own the latest addition to the Star Wars video game franchise, it looks like you're getting a brand spanking new Battlefront DLC, set around the cloud city of Bespin. Set to arrive in June, this new DLC includes new maps more the games standard 40-players, as well as new flight squadron map.
So what does it actually include?
In a recent blog post, EA revelaed the majority of the details around the upcoming DLC:
""This June, Season Pass holders will also receive our second digital expansion pack, Star Wars: Battlefront – Bespin. We're taking players in and around Cloud City, with four new maps for all of our most popular modes. You'll see AT-ATs in Cloud City, take to the skies in Fighter Squadron, and even spend time in a carbonite chamber. Of course, we're also adding more blasters and Star Cards, a new game mode, and two new iconic characters we're really excited about."
Two new characters you say? Who could they be?
Well, the first new character is, of course, Lando Calrissian, our very own Baron Administor and Rebel General. You all remember him as the guy who lost the Millenium Falcon to Han Solo, and he'll be the new playable hero when the DLC is released.
But who's the villain? Well, it's Dengar. You remember Dengar right? Right? Dengar is a Correlian Bounty Hunter, operating since the early stages of the Clone Wars. Dengar participated in an operation on Quarzite—during which he served as a member of a syndicate of hunters including Boba Fett, Bossk, and Asajj Ventress.
He's the guy on the left! Well, even if you don't remember him, he'll be joining the cast of playable villains in Cloud City.
What else do we know about the DLC?
Well, for starters EA have also confirmed that the update will be bringing with it a much wanted offline mode, although details on this are relatively scarce for the time being. As well as this, new in-game events and Hutt Contracts, which unlock powerful cards, will come with later free updates, as well as something extra special planned for the 4th of May, known to many as Star Wars Day.
The final piece of information EA released is that there are a further 8 playable heroes and villains coming in future updates, split evenly between the two sides. My money is on playable Chewbacca when the Death Star DLC is released.
