So Jurassic World 2 has officially confirmed director J.A. Bayona to work on the film, so, of course, what will it be about? Although there is very little confirmed about the upcoming sequel to the huge success that was Jurassic World, there are many theories surrounding this topic. So, why don't we talk about it? Here are 3 possibile routes Bayona may be taking to give us a movie that lives up to the hype!
1. What has happened to Isla Sorna (site B)?
So, now that we have our little dose of what Isla Nublar's been up to in Jurassic World, it's time to see what Isla Sorna (also known as site B) has been up to. It makes sense that Bayona would want to utilize site B, and could show something along the lines of Dr. Wu (BD Wong) breaking out of prison and starting his own park full of dangerous hybrids over there! That's what I'd like to see, but the possibilities are endless! We'll just have to see what J.A. is gonna do.
2. Are there any Indominus Babies or remaining siblings?
Given the track record the dinosaurs have for breeding in the Jurassic Park franchise, it could be the case that the Indominous Rex laid eggs before dying - kind of like the ending of the 1998 mess-up that was Godzilla! It could be possible. It's possible that Wu had an egg shipped to Isla Sorna, just in case the incidents at Jurassic World happened, and he could still continue his work there (after he broke out of prison, of course). Of course, this is me speculating again, but there was evidence to show that the Indominous Rex wasn't all that unique in Jurassic World. Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) said that it had another sibling but ate it, but what if there was another sibling that was never introduced to the Indominous, and it's still out there somewhere? As I said before, the possibilities are endless.
3. Will we be seeing more dino-hybrids?
First, they brought back the dinosaurs. Then, they did it again (three times). After all that, they decided to create hybrids in Jurassic World. There seems to be a trend that tells that that humans won't be tampering with nature any less in the next movie, but are instead much more likely to continue working on their previous failure (or huge success, depending on how you look at it) in trying to create a dino-hybrid.
Here's what I'd like to see: Wu breaks out of prison and starts his own Hybrid Park. Unsurprisingly, they all go crazy just like the Indominous and destroy every living thing on that island, too. Wu can then enlist the help of Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire to help destroy those dinosaurs - if they do, they're gonna need a lot of Mosasaurus!
So uh yeah, that's what I think is going to happen in JW2. What are your theories on the upcoming sequel? Let me know with a comment!
Jurassic World has a set release date for June 22, 2018.
