No stranger to the superhero world, actor Willem Dafoe has joined Warner Bros.' Batman v Superman follow-up, The Justice League Part One, directed by Zack Snyder.

THR reported that Dafoe is joining the cast in the role of a good guy who will appear in parts One and Two, but WB is keeping the character's name under wraps for now. Of course, Dafoe had a memorable turn in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man Trilogy as Norman Osborn/Green Goblin, the villain in the movie that arguably kicked this whole superhero movie craze into high gear in the first place.

But which DC character could he be playing? My inclination is to say he'll be an original character à la Scoot McNairy's Wallace Keefe or Holly Hunter's Senator Finch in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but someone that's an ally to Commissioner Gordon or the Justice League.

However, if the Justice League is going in the direction of Darkseid and Apokolips as Batman v Superman teased, then perhaps Dafoe could be Highfather, Darkseid's antithesis from New Genesis.

I could certainly see him as an all-powerful New God who faces off with the God of Evil.

Dafoe joins Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher and fellow Spider-Man alum J.K. Simmons in Justice League, set for release on November 17, 2017.

Don't worry, he's playing a good guy this time.
