The first season of Supergirl has come to a close. And as of now, there's no confirmation about whether the show would be renewed for a second season. But even if the show gets renewed for future seasons, one question still remains ..

Will we ever get to see Superman on the show?

Superman has made a few blink-and-you'll-miss-it appearances on Supergirl, including both the pilot and finale episodes. But we didn't get a clear glimpse at Superman's face in any of those appearances.

In the finale, in a scene that featured Kara (Melissa Benoist) and J'onn J'onzz (David Harewood), we get to see a vulnerable Superman's boots in the background, lying inside the "Med Bay" of The DEO.

Since Warner Brothers is building the DC Extended Universe on the big screen, the characters that shows like Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl, don't have the freedom of accomodating whatever character they like without Warner Brothers' consent. More than a year back, on being asked whether we'll get to see the likes of Batman or Superman on The Flash and Arrow anytime soon, this is what Andrew Kreisberg had to say,

"There are things we can do, and there are things we can't. But there are cities we can use, and then there's everything else. You won't be hearing Gotham or Metropolis on the show anytime soon."

Although Kreisberg did mention that Batman or Superman were off limits, he had said this when Supergirl was nowhere close to development.

Since then, Supergirl has aired on CBS, had an inter-network crossover with the Flash and completed a whole season. But you're going to complete an entire season of a show about Superman's cousin and all that you're going to show us are his boots? REALLY?

TV Line caught up with one of the executive producers of Supergirl, Ali Adler, and ask her about when we could see Superman on the show and this is what she had to say,

"It's always a conversation. I'll come back to the answer that this is Supergirl's show, and it's her point of view. But he lives in our world, and at some point, we'd definitely like to meet him."

Do you think we'll ever get to Superman's face on Supergirl?
