SPOILERS FOR AGENTS OF SHIELD 'THE TEAM'
It feels extremely good when a show that you love, starts garnering the attention it deserves! Agents of Shield started out -mediocre at best - and now the show is delivering top-notch comic book entertainment week-after-week. This is one of the few shows that I like to view its Twitter feed to see what everyone's saying about the show! Let's do a short recap and then I'll explain what had me like 'WHAT' in last night's episode!
IT'S YOUR BOY!
I'm in love with Grant Ward and all things Hive! Moving on: The action in this episode was breathtakingly awesome and proves that kick-ass action really helps the narrative along (it does!). The Secret Warriors saves the team from Ward's Hive and in the process one of them receives a nice, relaxing brainwash from King of the Douches. They captured Malick and interrogated him -- and then mayhem ensues. The Inhumans started to point fingers at each other to see who was taken over by Ward at Hydra's facility.
Twas' fun and interesting, but the ending wasn't that shocking, when Daisy revealed that she was the one behind everything. We already knew that Ward had a thing for Skye (Daisy) and it looks like that'd carried over in the afterlife. Daisy killed Malick and destroys the (I wrote in an earlier article about wanting to see the full extent of her powers and thank you writers!) base of Shield and joined Hive at the end!
Check out this promo for next week's episode and I'll then I'll explain my beef with what's happening:
LET'S TALK ABOUT SEX BABY, LET'S TALK ABOUT YOU AND ME, LET'S TALK ABOUT SHIELD BABY!
Now, when I write these speculations -- this is not me guaranteeing anything, but observations and I'd like to hear what you think of this matter down in the comments section. In the previous episode, Daisy saw a vision of a Spaceship and something horrible happening. I'm going to cut the bull and tell you exactly what I think will happen and how it might just carry over in the larger MCU. But first, I love FitzSimmons and I think they might have the best relationship on television! Man, could they be any more adorable?
CONNECTION TO CIVIL WAR
The television shows are somewhat separate in Marvel's MCU and I believe that Hive will do something inexplicably horrible and this will lead to SHIELD's version of a Superhero Registration Act. I can't think of anything else that'll tie Coulson and his team into the events of Civil War. Plus, the plot synopsis pretty much gave this away. Also, I can't wait to see to team's reaction to what Daisy did to them at the bunker. This will lead to arguing and debating whether or not they should supervised by a higher authority. President Ellis should make an appearance and tell everyone that they'll have to register if they're enhanced-individuals, especially after what I'm going to write next!
So, what is this incident that could be comparable to Lagos in Captain America: Civil War, or the Stamford incident like in the comics?
HIVE WANTS TO TURN EVERYONE INTO INHUMANS
Malick is dead and Hive just inherited all his money. You saw Daisy at the end, stealing the Terrigen Crystals. We all know that Terrigen Crystals kills non-Inhumans and you can best believe that Hive wants to drop a Terrigen Bomb on the world and either kill, or turn everyone into something he can control (check the promo and the fish oils was some watered-down version that didn't kill people). The money he stole from Malick, will help weaponize the crystals and the incident will be when he's testing them out on some unlucky people.
Side note: Is this how Ms. Marvel will be created? I know Carol Danvers isn't in the MCU yet, but damn that'd be awesome! Moving on, this makes the most sense and they already have a way to stop them from doing this again.
In an earlier episode, Carl Creel's (Absorbing Man) blood was shown to be able to stop the Terrigenisis process in Inhumans -- that have not yet gone through the transformation. I'm sure they'd be able to find to a way to combat the crystals, so that regular humans won't die as well. I think the writers set this up pretty well and I'm curious if you think this makes sense?
WAIT, WHAT ELSE DOES THIS MEAN?
I'm not sure when The Inhumans movie will come out, but if Agents of SHIELD Season 3 stops the process of turning people into Inhumans: How will this be handled in the movie? As of now, I kinda hate how this Inhuman problem is completely ignored in the larger MCU. Does this mean that movie will focus solely on The Royals and then have no chance of furthering the Inhumans line? Could this mean that we might see the X-Men: Due to the fact that Marvel Television and Marvel Studios doesn't get along and Fox's television deal? I have no friggin' clue, but this is something I'll be paying attention to in the future! Please, let me know what you think, I'd love to hear everything that you have to say!
