(Warning: The following contains mild SPOILERS for the upcoming Marvel event 'Civil War II', albeit ones that only reveal things that you almost certainly already know. Proceed with whatever level of caution that suggests to you is wise...)
Now, while fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are quite rightly getting massively over-excited about the imminently arriving Captain America: Civil War, it's worth noting that it isn't the only Marvel-ous superhero smackdown we're set to see this summer. Y'see, while Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr are throwing down on the big screen, Marvel's comic-book heroes are set to do much the same on the page - and if the latest trailer for Marvel's biggest comic-book event of the year is anything to go by...
Civil War II Might Be As Big a Deal as Captain America: Civil War
After all, while Captain America: Civil War looks set to divide our on-screen Avengers, Civil War II seems likely to divide an entire comic-book universe in two. And, as that there trailer hints, we're set to see a whole lot more than the original Civil War's central conceit of Iron Man v Captain America. For one thing, this time we're going to get to see Captain America face off against...Captain America.
That's right - Marvel's two Cap's, Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson, look set to find themselves on opposite sides of the divide. Which, for anyone who's been following the duo's relationship since back when Sam Wilson was Cap's sidekick, The Falcon, is sure to be one hell of a fight.
The first issue of the crossover doesn't arrive until June, though, so in the meantime we're just going to have to content ourselves with an entire movie of Avengers battling one another. Yup, that's how hard it is to be a comic-book geek right now.
What do you reckon, though?
Which are you more excited for: Captain America: Civil War, or Civil War II?
