Are Any Of These Your Favourites...?

Summer is just around the corner! If the weather is terrible (99.9% likely), do not worry, there is a backup plan! Get yourself down the cinema to see the latest big movie releases coming your way. Kicking it all off is Spidey and Co swinging into action as Captain America: Civil War starts the parade for Hollywood and their big stars. But the main superhero isn’t just Avengers this summer! The Ninja Turtles, X-Men and Suicide Squad all explode into action. But don’t forget we’re boarding the Starship Enterprise this summer in the new Star Trek movie.

Summer 2016 is also made up of quite a lot of sequels. Ghostbusters make their long awaited return to the big screen (finally). A few comedies and a few original movies are also thrown into this big mix up of films. It’s looking like this summer could be the best on yet.

May 6th – Captain America: Civil War

Ant-Man and Black Panther star alongside all the Avengers in this movie alongside the magnificent new Spider-Man. Even as we speak, Civil War is collecting a bunch of positive reviews and some are the best Marvel Studios have ever seen! It’s looking like it’s going to storm the box office this May!

May 20th – The Angry Birds Movie

One for the kids now. Rovio Entertainment’s popular game ‘Angry Birds’ is crashing to the big screen. Even in 3D! Jason Sudeikis is the voice of the red bird. Red bird is filled with rage which will come in handy once his lovely tropical island is invaded by those pesky green pigs. Treat your kids this May for one thrill of a ride in 3D. Fun for all the family.

May 27th – X Men Apocalypse

Professor Charles Xavier returns and is once again saving the world from a mutant with a decidedly anti-human agenda. Oscar Isaac is behind this monstrous villain in some rather funky and exciting purple make-up. But he will look more powerful than anything when he starts wiping out the human race alongside his Four Horsemen Angel, Psylocke, Storm and of course Magneto!

June 3rd – Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows

Dave Green is the first person to grow up a fan of these stunning turtles and then get the chance to direct a movie starring them. An early preview shows a distinct love for the well-known and very popular 1990s animated cartoon.

June 17th – Finding Dory

It’s the film we’ve all be waiting for! Pixar brings us the long awaited Finding Nemo sequel. Ellen DeGeneres, the voice of Dory is the main star of this film as Dory sets off on an adventure to find her family at a marine life institute. Of course, Marlin and Nemo tag along for this fun packed adventure across the ocean. This is a film you cannot miss!

July 1st – The BFG

After decades of development and waiting, Steven Spielberg finally presents us The BFG. Roald Dahl’s well known character is magically coming to life on the big screen this summer. Newcomer Rubie Barnhill is playing the character Sophie who is the precious young girl who is taken by The BFG in the middle of the night and is taken to see the magical giant land. See the story come to life this summer.

July 15th – Ghostbusters

The all amazing paranormal extermination team are back with an all-female cast for this reboot. Kristen Wilg will lead a fresh team which includes the stars Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones and Chris Hemsworth. They’re on a mission to capture free repeaters and full roaming vapors that are scattered across the amazing New York City!

August 5th – Suicide Squad

The DC Extended Universe are back and expands with this adaptation of their popular titles. Rick Flag is the lead of the ragtag team of criminals who are also known as Task Force X. It includes Will Smith as Deadshot and Margot Robbie as the one and only Harley Quinn. They go off on a mission against… An unknown threat. Look out for Batman and The Joker this summer in this phenomenal movie.

This is only a selected few that could be a potential hit at the box office this summer. So when you see the weather forecast of rain, or just need something to do, get yourself down your local cinema and enjoy summer like you’ve never done before!
