Jurassic Park icon Jeff Goldblum seems to be open to a lot of projects lately. He's been giving interviews ahead of the imminent release of Independence Day: Resurgence — a mere 20 years after the first movie — in which he reprises his role as David Levinson, and opened up about potential upcoming projects.
One of these interviews with MTV revolved around two core pillars of today's cinematic universe: superheroes and dinosaurs.
So What Other Sequels Is Goldblum Going To Be In?
With the latest superhero movie craze that's filling movie theaters, the MTV journalist obviously asked Goldblum if we would ever see him donning a cape or flaunting some mutant powers.
Squinting, he gave a cryptic response in perfect mysterious Goldblum fashion:
"I can say very little right now, but you might be onto something. [Long pause.] You might be."
Asked if he was more Marvel or DC, however, he admitted he wasn't sure he knew the difference. Not because of a lack of interest, of course, but because he's simply the most open guy in the world.
"I'm in every camp, I'm nothing, I'm open to all."
We could use someone like that in Civil War, couldn't we?
Where's Ian Malcolm In Jurassic World?
As far as Jurassic World 2 is concerned, he said he wasn't actually aware there'd be one, so it's safe to say they haven't contacted him to bring back Ian Malcolm. What a shame. But again, no hard feelings: "I think they're flourishing without me," he said, even though he also admitted he hadn't yet seen Jurassic World.
"I’m nothing if not open. I’m like an open-faced sandwich. My door is not always open — I took the door off. I removed the hinges from the door. I’m too open. I’m like a chicken piccata."
We clearly haven't seen the last of the 63-year-old actor. But until he single-handedly makes a Marvel/DC crossover happen after teaching the world how to be 'open to all,' watch the new trailer for his latest movie, Independence Day: Resurgence, below.
