Woah! Another Playstation?!

No, it's still a PS4, just with some added perks. There are actually a ton of cool things we know about it at this point. It's no surprise that Sony likes to work on how to improve their products.

For Example

One of the biggest things Sony is beefing up is its video content. A whopping 4K is what we we can experience and it will be fully optimized for VR (Virtual Reality). This will be freaking great news for the ever-expanding VR populous! Not convinced? Take a look at the video below to see how awesome VR can be:

How Much Better Is The PS 4.5/Neo

2.25 times more powerful than the AMD system-on-a-chip inside the current PS4, as well as a 500 MHz increase in the system's CPU clock speed and a 42 GB/s increase in memory bandwidth.

Original PS4 | NEO

CPU 8 Jaguar Cores at 1.6 GHz| 8 Jaguar Cores at 2.1 GHz

GPU AMD GCN, 18 CUs at 800 MHz |Improved AMD GCN, 36 CUs at 911 MHz

Memory 8 GB GDDR5, 176 GB/s |8 GB GDDR5, 218 GB/s

Another Huge Benefit Of The 4.5/Neo

Sony announced that players will have a feature called NEO mode. You can run most of your older PS4 games in "NEO" mode which allows you to have a much higher frame-rate and image fidelity! In September, every game that comes out will have a day one patch that will update them to NEO's level.

Replacing The PS4?

Absolutely not! Sony plans on making the two systems co-exist and work fluidly together! How cool is that? Plus if you haven't bought a PS4 yet this will drop the price pretty significantly! So that's a huge plus for you losers! (Just kidding, you guys are probably the smart ones to wait haha)

In Conclusion

There's not a whole lot more information about the PS4.5, but from what we know thus far it seems like it's going to be awesome, especially for games like Fallout 4 with incredibly realistic frames. Expect a whole lot more juicy information in the coming weeks!
