Toy Story Land will be one of a few new additions to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. While there is no official opening date for this new theme park, that doesn’t mean the marketing for the new attractions stops here. In fact, Disney is just getting started.
Slinky Dog Dash
Disney has unveiled a brand new sneak peek for one of their newer attractions soon to debut in Toy Story Land: Slinky Dog Dash. This family coaster will travel all through Andy’s backyard and give guests an experience of a lifetime. According to Imagineer Kathy Magnum, Andy has personally built this track himself with his Mega Coaster Play Kit, while using a variety of his toys to bring it to life.
Disney has released a video that gives a POV perspective while riding this attraction. You can check it out this video below:
This coaster looks like a ton of fun. The coaster perfectly fits with the theme of Andy’s backyard and Slinky Dog is a great character choice to make this attraction a reality. Guests will have a blast as they travel around the ENTIRE Toy Story Land area while feeling that they themselves are well, toys.
Alien Swirling Saucers
“The Claw!” How many of you remember that line from the first Toy Story film? Well, it’s about to become a reality and YOU are a part of the action. Taken from the famous pizzeria known as Pizza Planet, it appears that guests will be able to control their own vehicles that resembles a toy flying saucer or satellite. Guests are tasked with avoiding the aliens who control “The Claw” by dancing/swirling to the “space jazz” music played throughout the duration of the attraction.
Based on the picture above, there will be two attractions that will go at the same time in order to cut down the wait time for the ride. This is similar to what they did to the Dumbo attraction in the Storybook Circus section located in the Magic Kingdom.
Alien Swirling Saucers looks like a fun, interactive adventure for all guests. I always wanted to see an attraction based on the Pizza Planet scene from the film. This could very well do it justice and I cannot wait for this attraction to open!
Toy Story Midway Mania Gets An Extra Track!
This may not seem like a big deal, but trust me IT IS. Toy Story Midway Mania ALWAYS has one of the longest queues in the Walt Disney World property. This ride debuted at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2008 and still has a very long line. It’s nearly impossible to get a FastPass for this attraction as guests will snatch those up months in advance.
The attraction is one of my personal favorites, but will usually have a wait time somewhere between 60 and 90 minutes. It hardly ever goes below 60 minutes, but this third track should certainly stop some of the bleeding. This will hopefully cut the wait time down by half, which would allow other guests to experience this attraction with or without a FastPass.
So, those are a few new attractions we can expect to see in the coming future.
How excited are you for Toy Story Land? Which attraction are you anticipating more? Please let me know in the comments section below!
