So there's been a trend within the past five or so years really focusing upon the topic of "Superman vs Batman." Who would win? Naturally, fans only knowing of the two characters without really diving into any of their source material have come to the consensus that "Batman wins because he's smarter!" or something along the lines of such.

To get straight to my point, here is EVERY aspect worth covering in addressing who would win in a fight.

Speed:
Well speed is always a key element in fights, and I think it goes without saying that Superman has the advantage here. He's able to fly faster than light itself; literally nothing in batman's arsenal has ever come close to a feat like this. And before you get started on how kryptonite would slow Clark down or something, just keep in mind that Bruce still has to get close enough to take full use of its effect. When you're fighting an opponent that could circle the globe in the time it takes to pull out your little green ring, you don't exactly have much of a chance. So yeah, this consistently goes to Big Blue.

Strength:
Well obviously this is a no brainer. Superman's held the weight of the Earth, shattered entire planets, punch his foes miles with a single blow, you get the point. The only way Batman has been able to compare before is with the use of a suit or with Kryptonite.

Let's cover the suit. The one canon suit that Bruce has been able to counter Clark for a bit is the Justice Buster, a suit specifically designed to counter the Justice League in the case that they ever went rogue (debuted in the first issue of the New 52's Endgame). This suit was equipped with red sun knuckles, shields for heat vision, and even a means to counter Clark's freeze breath.

With an all powerful machine so specifically designed to fight the man of steel, what happened? Well despite such customization, Superman still managed to tear the suit to absolute shreds within a matter of seconds. Bruce was only saved by a newly introduced weapon, the kryptonite gum. And like I said earlier, without PIS to stop Clark from smashing Bruce's skull in, Bats just isn't fast enough to weaken superman.

just btw but Clark was jokerized

I'd like to pause for a second to take note of the Hell Bat. While this suit has stood up to Darkseid, I'd like to refrain from making assumptions about it due to its lack of feats. Although it is fair to say Bruce would be able to put up a good fight with it, in the event that Clark doesn't decided to speed blitz him or throw him into the sun or such. Not to mention the suit is bat suicide, eating away at his life if used for too long, but I digress.

Superman takes strength due to his ability to overcome everything bats has ever thrown at him (without Plot or moral induced reasons).

Intelligence/planning/battle strategy

This is where people usually think Batman wins. While I agree that Bruce is a genius, he's in no way on par with Superman. Superman has shown the ability to speed blitz through books and heavy loads of information in mere moments since he processes information millions of times faster, while retaining everything he needs to know. In the New 52's run of action comics, Superman had read every medical book in an entire library and performed surgery immediately after, proving that with any form of prep time he could become an absolute monster. One day in the life of Superman could equate to decades as Batman.

And I know we've dragged this on a while, but here's Arsenal:

Bats has an amazing arsenal. Kryptonite, the hellbat, the justice buster, the insider suit, batmobiles and vehicles of the like, he even once made a suit that could cloak his entire presence from Clark (before being intentionally destroyed). All of these things go beyond the human level of comprehension, yet I'd like to take a second to observe Kent's arsenal.

Clark's fortress contains a surprisingly massive amount of dangerous weaponry such as a phantom zone projector, a mini phantom zone projector, super computers and robots of the like, various weaponry from his enemies, a Kryptonian war suit (granted it doesn't have many feats), a mother box, etc. Heck, even the key could be used as a weapon. The thing weighs like half a million, just throw that and boom, there goes Bruce's head.

RIP batsy

I think we can agree that there's not much bats can do against a phantom zone projector lmao.

So that's the breakdown of all their stats as it should be, but now let's look at their fights.

First thing people usually pick up on, The Dark Knight rises. A book in which Superman is bodied by an old as Batman. While he did kinda lose, here are the problems with this being counted as a fight. Clark stated he didn't want to fight Bruce and that he wasn't gonna hurt him, Clark had just gotten nuked, so being a weaker incarnation already and then getting screwed over even more, well that's just a bummer. Even during the fight, Clark called this "idiotic," merely trying to repel the oncoming attacks. He even broke Bruce's ribs trying to get him to simply stop, it was just a sad fight.

Hardly even a fight, let alone fair

Then there's the second most famed fight, the Hush fight. In the graphic novel Hush, Poison Ivy uses kryptonite to infect and control Superman, pitting him with Batman. Bats has to then use his kryptonite ring to keep Supes at bay. This is a commonly referenced scan in the claim that "Bats can keep up with and hit Supes." Only one problem here. Peep the scan.

So lemme give you some context for a second again, but even while being controlled, Clark is still resisting to a degree and holding back. And case in point when you look at the bottom left text boxes. These boxes say that if Clark wanted to right now, he could just body Bats into the cement no problem. He's just taking the punches because he knows he's being used.

Plus there's this thing called heat vision btw

Yeah once again I'd just like to say that kryptonite can be destroyed and/or countered. While it's not being destroyed in the above scan, I'd like you to take note that this is an effective counter. Or idk, maybe just smash the thing. Ultraman didn't seem to have a problem doing that in Forever Evil or in recent issues of the Justice League.

So bottom line is that Supes outclasses. Yeah it's a fun notion to imagine that man can challenge what's practically a deity, but realistically that's not so. You look at a no prep vs no prep fight, and it's over before you can blink. Heat vision to the face, head slammed in concrete, solid freezing, you name it. Point being that Supes has shown far more impressive stats. You take prep vs prep and still, this only makes Supes scarier. Remember how I said he blitzed through months worth of reading in seconds? Yeah now imagine what he could do in whatever time you're allowing Bruce to get ready.

In the end this boils down to "How much do you have to cripple Supes or boost Bats before this becomes even?" Big Blue wins guys. Anyway now that you know this, you can challenge the pseudo bat fans who constantly bring this fight up but now you have evidence for what you say. Hope you enjoyed this article.
