Now, there are a whole lot of ways you can respond to finding yourself suddenly out of work. For some, getting right back out there and applying for every job going is the best response, while for others it can prove more sensible to take a break to recharge. Catching up on your reading is always a popular option, as is binge-watching that Netflix series you've been meaning to get through since 2014.

For Grant Imahara, one-time MythBusters star, however, his departure from the show proved to be more of a beginning than an ending, with the electronics expert quickly finding himself working on a whole host of other projects. What's more, his latest enterprise - teaming up with Mauser Electronics in a promotional venture tied to Captain America: Civil War - looks set to be pretty darned exciting. Y'see...

Grant Imahara is Building a Functional Iron Man Gauntlet

Yup, that's right. A functioning version of these bad-boys...

...complete with a top-mounted laser. Just because.

It's all part of Imahara and Mouser's plan to pit fully functional real-life replicas of Captain America's shield (made using a drone, no less) and Iron Man's gauntlet against one another in a gloriously geeky battle to the death.

OK, so probably not to the death, but certainly to the mild embarrassment of the loser, which is pretty much the internet equivalent of to the death.

For more details, you can check out the project's latest teaser below...

...remembering all the while that while creating epic (and likely potentially explosive) real-life superhero technology is awesome and everything, it's also potentially incredibly dangerous. In other words? Take care/don't try this at home/ask an engineer for help, and all that.

In the meantime, though...

What do YOU reckon?

Which would you rather have?
