Don't worry, I'm not suggesting that The Simpsons should be a feature in Square Enix's Kingdom Hearts III, but a new clip certainly has us entertained and thinking of Sora's next adventure.
When it comes to Disney and all that it's created, it must be so difficult to actually omit franchises and intellectual property from Kingdom Hearts III. But even though classic Disney cartoons have featured in the games before, most prominently in Kingdom Hearts II, we've seen a little revival of that particular art style in the gaming world of late. But first, check out this awesome clip from Fox's The Simpsons to see what I'm talking about!
'The Simpsons' Show What 'Kingdom Hearts III' Needs
As you can see, the classic animations of Walt Disney are on display in this fantastic couch gag for The Simpsons. But these classics are never really approached by Square Enix in a meaningful way, aside from the opening scene where Maggie is shown in that glorious 1930s-style animation that Kingdom Hearts has paid tribute to in the past. But in all honesty, I think we need more!
Though it's great to see that Kingdom Hearts III is featuring some of Disney's most recent creations, like Big Hero 6 and Tangled, the old classics should not be forgotten. To be honest, I'd like to see Square Enix go full 1930s and replicate what Studio MDHR is doing with Cuphead, which is wonderfully reminiscent of Disney's early work.
How awesome would it be to have a world brimming with characters like this in Kingdom Hearts III? With the likes of Marvel, Star Wars and so many other Disney properties on offer for Sora's next adventure, I'm afraid that Disney's classics could be forgotten. While some might not consider it a priority, I feel that something like Cuphead or what The Simpsons recently channelled would really contribute to the charm of Kingdom Hearts 3 in a beautiful way. But what do you guys think? Had you heard of Cuphead before? Did you like The Simpsons gag? Let us know in the comments!
