So, in the first episode of Season 6 of HBO's hit series Game of Thrones we witness Melisandre's big reveal at the end of the episode.
The Woman in Red is actually extremely old, and not as attractive and seductive as we previously thought.
Melisandre's transition between young to old happens as a result of her taking off the necklace from around her neck in front of the mirror. Thus, it is this necklace, when resting on her chest that creates the illusion of her youth.
The necklace is a piece of jewellery that has been constant throughout the her appearances in the TV show, or has it?
In season 4 we witness this. Melisandre in a bath, naked, without the necklace round her neck. How can this make sense if the necklace is what gives her youth?
It seems the creators of Game Of Thrones have made quite a problematic continuity error here.
