[X-Men: Apocalypse](tag:1194267) is set to hit theatres on May 27th, 2016 and 20th Century Fox dropped its final trailer yesterday. The trailer starts with a sign that reads "Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters", acknowledging the fact that like the previous installments of the X-Men Franchise Xavier's School will play an important part in X-Men: Apocalypse as well.
We'll get to see Xavier's School on the big screen once again, this summer, when X-Men: Apocalypse hits theatres. But this isn't the first time we are seeing Xavier's School on the big screen in 2016. We also got to see Xavier's School earlier this year as well, courtesy of Deadpool, the highest grossing and the first and only R-Rated superhero movie.
This has led me to wonder ..
Is Deadpool and X-Men: Apocalypse The Real Reason Behind Oliver Queen's Bankrupcy On Arrow?
Some of you might be asking yourselves, "What does Arrow have to do with the X-Men Franchise?". And some of you may have figured out where I'm going with this. For those of you who don't know, Xavier's School and Queen Mansion on Arrow are shot at the same location. Both are shot at Hatley Castle, which has also been used as Lex Luthor's mansion in the Smallville TV series.
Now, in the later half of Season 2, following Isabel Rochev's hostile takeover of Queen Consolidated, Oliver Queen went bankrupt and the Queen family were told that the Mansion was owned by the company itself and were told to vacate the property. The second half of Season 2 was shot during the first half of 2014. While X-Men: Apocalypse hadn't been announced yet, Deadpool was in pre-production. By the time Season 3 rolled in, both the movies would have started production. If two big budget movies are shot at the same location, it would have been impossible to squeeze in an entire season of TV show, because the clash of schedules between Arrow and X-Men would have been inevitable. Also, the amount that 20th Century Fox could pay the castle authorities, what The CW Network couldn't due to the low budget allotted to TV Shows. Maybe the producers and the writers of Arrow saw that coming and were forced to make Oliver Queen bankrupt. Beacuse the only plausible reason for Oliver Queen to leave the Queen Mansion, would have been him going bankrupt and being forced to move out of the mansion.
