A short time ago the first image of Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa hit the internet, which was met with mixed reactions from fans. The design of the character was extremely different from that of the original villain from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

Fans had many questions over the design, which probably gave Rita a headache, but one of the biggest was "Where is her iconic staff?" Well good news fans, images from the set have been released of Rita Repulsa in action!

It can be clearly seen in the first image of her holding a staff, which does appear to retain characteristics of her original staff from Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers.

The second image released gives us a better look of the villain in all her glory. While the staff does not retain the classic full circle of the original staff, it is clear they have used the original staff design as inspiration for the new one. Interestingly enough, when you compare these images to the rejected concept art that was released a few months ago, it makes you wonder how different the other official designs will be compared to the rejected concepts.

The rejected design is almost a hybrid of the new design and the classic. It retains her staff, hairstyle and hood falling to the sides of her face but has the green tight fitting of the official design. So perhaps when more images are released we will see similarities from the other rejected concept art and what they actually decide on.
