Even though I think fans can agree that Jim Carrey made an outstanding Count Olaf in the 2004 adaptation of Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, I couldn't help but get excited when hearing Neil Patrick Harris had been tapped for the role in the Netflix series.

Today, a series of on-set photos were released showing NPH donning full Count Olaf makeup and garb while in Vancouver.

With a face full of prosthetics and a fetching grey wig, the How I Met Your Mother actor has been totally transformed into the literary villain so many of us grew up with — and we're Count O-lafing it!

Check Out Some Of The Images Below:

While it's not fair to judge a book by its cover, NPH certainly looks the part, which has me even more sold on the show (if that was even possible). It's also not a far cry from Jim Carrey's aesthetic, but that's definitely not a problem.

Set to play two of the three Baudelaire children in the series are young actors Louis Hynes as Klaus and Malina Weissman as Violet. Also cast are Patrick Warburton as Lemony Snicket and Aasif Mandvi as Uncle Monty.

Netflix's 'A Series of Unfortunate Events' is to air eight episodes initially and will be released on the streaming platform sometime this year.

What do you think of Neil Patrick Harris's look for the role?
