Get ready to hang out once more with Gene, Andy, Coop, McKinley, Susie, Ben, Victor, Neil, and the rest of the Camp Firewood gang from the comedy classic Wet Hot American Summer.
Netflix announced today that an eight-episode sequel series titled Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later would be hitting the streaming service in 2017, a follow-up to the Netflix Original Series Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp that hit in 2015.
Netflix announced the show by repurposing this classic finale to the original 2001 movie:
Of course, there's also a memorable post-credits scene in the film that teases what the characters will look like in the sequel series, set in 1991:
It's unknown if the entire cast will be returning, as was the case with First Day of Camp — along with a bevy of guest stars — but it's likely to be the case. However, neither Ben (Bradley Cooper) or Andy (Paul Rudd) are in this tag scene, so at least one storyline to look forward to in Ten Years Later is why they're missing. Could they just be late? Given the farcical nature of the series, they're more likely dead or horribly maimed — hilariously, of course.
