You'd think that being named the World's Most Beautiful Woman in 2016 would mean that you would consider yourself pretty influential. However, if you're Jennifer Aniston, this couldn't be further from the truth.
Speaking to People the other day, the 47-year-old actress spoke of the moment she was bestowed with the prestigious honor, saying:
“There was this sort of very excited, teenage-y kind of moment of feeling very, very flattered.”
And when the conversation turned to the beauties who have inspired her over the decades, her response was rather unexpected... she picked 82-year-old journalist and political activist Gloria Steinem.
Once and for all, Jen's decision proves that she is a down-to-earth human being with exceptional taste. She added:
“I’ve always thought Gloria is quite stunning for many, many reasons besides her exterior. She's taught me about feminism. There was a time when I was like, 'I'm not quite sure I understand what this is?' And she's like, 'It's very simple: it's just about equality. That's all it is.'"
The actress also mentioned her admiration for Gloria's personal strength and gave a passionate shout-out to Steinem's HBO documentary. Here she is talking about her project late last year:
Alongside Gloria, Jennifer also revealed that she was inspired by Lauren Hutton, Brigitte Bardot and "those kind of babes."
"Beauty has changed for me over the years: It's really learning to love every single thing about yourself. It's also realizing that it's not just sort of clothes and what's happening here [points to her face], but there's so much more that's beautiful in a human being."
We couldn't agree more. We love you, Jen.
