Do you walk with a limp? Is your hair molting? Are your teeth slowly falling out, one by one? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you could be just the person Universal Studios Hollywood are looking for — you could become a star!
Their Walking Dead attraction, which was announced last month, will team up with the creative team of the hit TV show to create a horrifically lifelike recreation of what it would be like to live in the post-apocalyptic, zombie-infested nightmare. That includes authentic, (kind of) living and (not really) breathing walkers.
You Can Walk The Walk, But Can You Groan The Groan?
Auditions will open for the talented undead to groan, dribble, bleed, and decay all in the name of giving tourists both the best (or worst) day of their lives. The auditions — expected to attract thousands — will be run on Thursday (5th) and Friday (6th) of May.
The attraction is on the lookout for around 100 male and female actors. Those lucky few will get top treatment from the team who create the prosthetics for the show, including director and producer Greg Nicotero and his SFX company KNB Efx.
If you're one of those people who really, really isn't a morning person, or the type who can't string a single sentence together before your first coffee, or, um, you have an overwhelming urge to eat human flesh, why not make a career of it?
Practice Your Scare Ability
According to the official Universal Studios audition page, there are various criteria you'd need to fulfill. Firstly, you'll be asked to do 'some improvisation' and 'demonstrate scare-abilities.'
Now, they don't specify what 'scare-abilities' are exactly, but maybe gauge it and don't go all Jack Nicholson, Heeeerrrrreee's Johnny! batshit crazy, just incase, you know, they call the police, or you get tasered.
Anyway, if you're interested, you can apply by heading over to www.USHAuditions.com and submitting your application. Auditions are held at the Globe Theater at Universal Studios Hollywood.
Good luck, and break a leg — it'll help with the limp.
The Walking Dead Season 7 will return in October.
Will you be auditioning to become a walker at the Walking Dead attraction?
