Hold your torches high folks, the new Lara Croft has been found.

If it feels like every movie in the last two years has featured Hollywood's new darling, Alicia Vikander — you'd be right. After winning an Oscar for her performance in The Danish Girl and starring in Ex Machina, Burnt, and The Man From U.N.C.L.E, Alicia Vikander will now take on everyone's favorite raider of tombs, Lara Croft.

Details of the new Tomb Raider movie are yet to be announced, so until then, here's everything you need to know about Alicia Vikander:

1. Vikander is succeeding Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft

In fact, she'll play a younger Croft — the film will tell the story of a young, untested Croft who fights to survive her first adventure — and hopefully bag her own franchise a la Angelina Jolie, who starred in two Tomb Raider movies; 2001's Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and 2003's Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life.

2. She had a real life Lara Croft experience while filming Anna Karenina

Shooting in the Russian countryside, temperatures dropped to -40°C and she was staying in a cabin at the time. For five days Vikander slept on benches rather than beds while her security guards protecter her from the wild wolves and bears that dominated the area.

3. She's as smart as Lara Croft, too

She learned Danish in two months to master the role of Queen Caroline Mathilde in 2012's A Royal Affair! Vikander now speaks Swedish, Danish, English and a little French, which basically makes her perfect for raiding tombs around the world.

4. Two major actresses turned down the roles, which gave Vikander her big break.

Saoirse Ronan turned down the part of Kitty in Anna Karenina before it was passed on to Vikander, and Jennifer Lawrence was originally cast to play the part of Alice in Seventh Son.

5. She's one of only 6 Swedish actors to have been nominated for an Academy Award, ever.

The others are Greta Garbo, Ingrid Bergman, Ann-Margret, Lena Olin and Max von Sydow. Vikander is also the first Swede to win an Academy Award — Best Supporting Actress for The Danish Girl — since Ingrid Bergman in 1975.

6. Before acting Vikander was a ballerina, meaning she'll ace Croft's choreographed action scenes.

She moved to Stockholm at age 15 to enroll in the Royal Swedish Ballet School, but after battling the heavy program and repeated injuries for three years, she quit to focus on acting. She told Vogue:

"I push myself hard. I don’t like pain, exactly, but as a ballerina I lived in constant pain. At ballet school in Stockholm, I remember we had a locker where if someone had been to the doctor and gotten painkillers, we divided them among us. In a sense we were all addicted. After I quit dancing, for a while it felt strange not to be in pain. It was as if an old friend, not a good friend but a presence, always tagging along, had left me."

7. Did Louis Vuitton predict her role?

Vikander is the face of Louis Vuitton's 2016 Cruise campaign, while in 2011 Angelina Jolie posed for the fashion brand's Core Values campaign. Coincidence?

8. She's apparently dating co-star Michael Fassbender

They met while filming The Light Between Oceans in 2014. The director, Derek Cianfrance, commented on his leads:

"The movie is a classic love story, and I cast them with the idea that they would have chemistry together. Evidently they did."

9. You'll get to see her in a sick action role before the release of the next Tomb Raider

As she'll star alongside Matt Damon in Jason Bourne which will explode into theaters this July.

Do you think Alicia Vikander will make a perfect Lara Croft?
