(Warning: Potential SPOILERS for Spider-Man: Homecoming lie below, albeit largely speculative ones. There's also the possibility that the following could be interpreted as very mildly SPOILER-ific if you haven't yet seen Captain America: Civil War, but care has been taken to avoid any overt SPOILERS.)

Now, with the recent revelation that Robert Downey Jr. will be heading to next year's Spider-Man: Homecoming, it's perhaps no real surprise that speculation is already rife as to who else we'll see in Spidey's first solo movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

As it turns out, though, Spider-Man himself has an idea. Y'see...

Tom Holland Is Hoping That Captain America Will Turn Up in Spider-Man: Homecoming

As he revealed recently, having been asked by MTV which Avenger he'd like to see make an appearance in Homecoming:

"If I could have any Avenger show up in my movie...I really like Iron Man, he's obviously my favorite...but I'd like Cap to show up at some point. I think that would be really cool if he did...but they're in the process of writing it so I really have no idea."

Which, a) is a great idea, and b) would... be better off discussed further behind some SPOILER-protection. If you haven't yet seen Captain America: Civil War, then click on the blurry box below at your own risk...

With Captain America: Civil War leaving Iron Man emotionally fragile, and Captain America as the leader of a rogue team of Avengers, it would make a lot of sense to have the two of them appear in Spider-Man: Homecoming as potential mentors for Spidey. After all, the original Civil War comic-book DID see him switch sides from Iron Man to Cap...

Now, you can watch more of Holland's comments just below...

...but the big question that needs to be answered now?

What do YOU reckon?
