The release of X-Men: Apocalypse is just around the corner. On May 27, 2016, the fate of the Earth will be tested again, bringing an array of powerful mutants together to save it from destruction.

Olivia Munn couldn't be more excited -- partly for the movie's release, and partly about the fact that she doesn't have to throw any more punches for the time being. Taking to her Instagram the other day, the Psylocke actress revealed the damage that those action-heavy scenes had done to her body:

The Throwback Thursday snap showed bruises that she had received whilst filming fighting scenes for the movie last summer. Ouch!

Earlier this year, Olivia also spoke about the grueling training sessions she had to undergo to get herself ready for the superhero role. When asked by a Twitter user if she ever got hurt preparing for her character, she admitted:

"I did get hurt training, uh, most of it was self-inflicted. I have a picture of my leg on my right side just completely bruised literally from my ankle all the way up to my thigh."

Here's what she said in full:

Poor, Olivia! That sounds savage.

Thankfully, all of her dedication will be rewarded when the X-Men: Apocalypse comes out. Here's the trailer:
