Hollywood's latest hot property is the movie adaptation of the board game Monsterpocalypse — 'a fast-moving, action-packed strategy game played with high-quality pre-painted miniatures portraying the most fearsome giant monsters on Earth!' — with a legit bidding war erupting as Sony, WB, and DreamWorks all fight for the rights.
The movie will be directed by Evil Dead's Fede Alvarez, who will also co-write the project with his writing partner Rodo Sayagues, THR reports.
Team Covenant created this fanmade trailer for Monsterpocalypse, so have a watch and imagine Alvarez's version something along these lines, only with a trillion more dollars behind it.
Considering the success of similarly Kaiju-oriented Pacific Rim, it's hardly surprising that the major studios are battling it out for the rights to what could be the next big monster franchise.
