Ok 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' just keeps getting better and better!
Don't get our hopes up, Tom Holland! It was recently announced that Iron Man will star alongside Tom Holland in the upcoming Spider-Man reboot titled Homecoming. The film is a team effort between Sony and Marvel, so this allows Spider-Man to be in the MCU, and other MCU characters to cross over to his franchise as well.
On the eve of Captain America: Civil War's release, the fate of Iron Man and Captain America's relationship is unknown to those who have yet to see the film, but Spider-man himself, Tom Holland, gave us hope on the red carpet, hinting that Iron Man may not be the film's only guest, he wants Captain America too! Holland teased when asked what Avenger he would want in his film:
"I'd like Cap to show up at some point," said Holland. "I think that'd be really cool if he did. But they're in the process of writing it, so I really have no idea." So far we know that Robert Downey Jr. will appear in the film as Tony Stark.
Ok, this would be too cool. Now, we don't need every Avenger in the film, this isn't a Civil War sequel, it's Spider-man's origin story, but Iron Man and Captain America single handedly launched the Marvel cinematic universe, so it would make sense they are the ones bring Spider-Man's solo movie into the fold.
Tom also commented on Spider-Man's reaction to the Avengers and being a kid with superpowers!
Personally, I think it is important for Captain America and Iron Man to guest star in Spider-man's official first solo film, but at the same time, the film doesn't need them to be successful!
