WARNING: Spoilers ahead for the Game of Thrones TV series. Do not read on unless you have seen Season 6, Episode 2, 'Home.'
When the first episode of Game of Thrones Season 6 premiered last Sunday, I have to admit I was a little disappointed. Was it just me or did it feel a little slow? Regardless, any reservations I had about the new season were totally banished last night as I sat swearing, gasping and quite literally jumping for joy all in the space of 60 minutes.
Yes, it was intense and yes, I miss it already. But no fear! With the completion of another episode comes a brand new trailer for next week to keep us on our toes and, by the looks of things, it's only going to be up from here. Let's take a look.
The Bastard Is BACK
At least, his body is — but is it the Jon we know and love? I wouldn't put it past the sneaky showrunners to put a twist on this miracle. The real question is: How different is he going to be?
The Wildlings Rally Around
Tormund can be heard saying, "They think you're some kind of god," but which "they" is he referring to? The Wildlings? Or the Night's Watch?
Arya's Training Gets Taken Up A Notch
Jaqen commands the voiceover: "If a girl is truly no one, she has nothing to fear." Shit's about to get serious.
Ramsay Is In For A Surprise
Officially the most hated character ever to appear on the show (I'm practically missing Joffrey at this stage), Ramsay is about to be presented with a gift — which I'm hoping is of the nasty kind.
Dany Meets Her Fate
The Dothraki horde rock up at the Mother of Mountains, Vaes Dothrak (apparent by the stallion's hoof.)
Cersei Is Out For Revenge
"If someone is planning on making our losses their gains, I want to hear it." With approval from King Tommen, Head Bitch is back in charge and she means business.
It's Ned Vs. Rhaegar
Thanks to Bran, we finally reunite with a younger version of our beloved Eddard Stark as he arrives at the Tower of Joy with his men. Coming face to face with one of Rhaegar Targaryen's guards in his quest to save his sister, it's only a matter of time before we find out if R + L = J is really true.
