WARNING: Contains Spoilers For Game of Thrones S06E02
This Article Is Merely Speculation And May Contain Future Spoilers!
Last night's episode of Game of Thrones was a very special one. In an action-filled episode that gave us the return of Brandon Stark, Ramsay Bolton murdering not only his father, but his father's newly-born son and the child's mother, the wildlings storming into Castle Black to bring justice to Jon Snow's death, and Balon Greyjoy's untimely death, the one thing that stood out the most to us as fans is the return of Jon Snow!
His resurrection turned out exactly how we all anticipated, well it seems that way anyhow. Melisandre used her mystical powers to "bring" Jon Back to life, and at first it didn't seem to work. As everyone left the room, Jon's direwolf began to become agitated and then BOOM, Jon Snow is back from the dead! Most people believe that Jon came back to life due to the work of Melisandre, but I don't believe it is that simple!
Did Ghost Help Bring Jon Snow Back To Life?
If you watched the episode, notice that after everyone left the room, Ghost began to sense something. As he hopped up to Jon Snow's dead body, he immediately regained life. This may be a bit of a stretch but I think it's definitely a twist that HBO would have up their sleeves. It has been said that Jon can warg into his wolf, which means much like Brandon Star, he can control the conscience of the animal he is attached too. It is also said that after you die your soul is transferred into the mind of the animal you are attached too.
My theory is that this is exactly what happened to Jon Snow. When the brothers of the Night's Watch shoved their knives into Jon Snow's body, his soul was transferred from his bodies to Ghost's. Once Melisandre somehow opened up his body for his soul to return, Snow realized that he could re-enter his body!
This Theory Is Definitely A Possibility!
There is no denying that Jon Snow has a strong connection to Ghost, and more than likely has the ability to warg with him. If this is the case, I believe that this is the real reason that Jon Snow came back to life. Game of Thrones is no stranger to throwing some plot twists in there, and I think the fact that he did not come back alive when Melisandre was preforming her ritual was a deliberate move. I'm not sure exactly how his soul came back into his body, but I definitely think it's a bit more complex than that.
