The marketing just keeps on coming! With [Captain America: Civil War](tag:994409) hitting theaters domestically this week, Bryan Singer’s own X-Men: Apocalypse has been giving us quite a few new looks at the upcoming film. Recently a video titled, 'The History of Apocalypse,' has made its way online. You can check out the newest featurette for [X-Men: Apocalypse](tag:1194267) by clicking the video below!

What is contained within this featurette?

While there’s not much new footage found in this featurette, we do however get a few behind-the-scenes looks at the making of this film. We also get a few new tidbits on our main antagonist Apocalypse, thanks to director Bryan Singer.

Singer here mentions that Apocalypse “brought civilization to mankind, but in turn believed he was a god.” Singer stresses that this being has been around for a millennia and has been reawakened. Apocalypse has also acquired multiple powers throughout the years of his existence and has grown stronger as a result. This god has inhabited many mutants over time, which has allowed him to continue to evolve.

Singer also mentions that Apocalypse is reawakened in the year 1983 and realizes the 'corrupt civilization' that surrounds him. Apocalypse isn’t too pleased to learn how humanity has portrayed mutants. During his time, humanity feared mutants and were ruled by him. This time however, humans have risen up to conquer mutants and thus are attempting to extinguish this race. This will certainly not happen if Apocalypse has anything to say about it.

The director also explains that X-Men: Apocalypse will be “by far the largest X-Men movie.” “The powers and the villains are greater and the stakes are much higher,” says Singer.

It’s clear from all the footage that we’ve seen that this movie will take place on a much bigger and global scale than the previous X-Men films. We have seen various shots from all around the world, particularly the ones where Apocalypse is recruiting his four horsemen. This movie looks to bring us a cunning and destructive villain in Apocalypse, and I cannot wait to see what Oscar Isaac has in store for us!

X-Men: Apocalypse will be in theaters on May 27th! How excited are you for this movie? Do you think this will be the best X-Men film yet!? What did you take out of this featurette? I’d like to hear everyone’s thoughts in the comment section below!
