When you play a role for a very long, you become associated with that character. This has its pros and cons. The benefit is that you become a legacy for the character, wrote down in the history books and you become the first person somebody thinks of when discussing the character.. The con in this, is that sometimes all of your other work can become overlooked! I think this might've been the case for Hugh Jackman. The fantastic Australian actor known to play the iconic Wolverine for over a decade. There's more than meets the eye with this veteran actor, check out some of his coolest facts below!

1. He was a last-minute addition to the X-Men!

Did you know Hugh Jackman was a last minute addition to the role he so perfectly plays? Dougray Scott was originally cast to play Logan a.k.a, Wolverine, but he was filming Mission Impossible 2 which required two extra months of shooting! Blessing in disguise? I think so, we wouldn't have Hugh Jackman as our Wolverine if that didn't happen! Could you picture X-Men without Hugh Jackman?

2. His children have play-time sessions with Rupert Murdoch's children!

Hugh Jackman and Rupert Murdoch are probably one of the most random friendships in Hollywood. The two Aussie's are good friends and their children have play-time sessions in New York together! Rupert Murdoch is a long-time serving media proprietor. Rupert Murdoch has an estimated net worth of12.4 billion USD as of 2015 (Forbes).

3. He holds the record for playing the same comic book character more than any other actor.

It seems like Hugh Jackman has been Wolverine since forever! He holds the record for the most amount of times appearing as the same comic book character. He better watch out, the likes of Chris Evans (Captain America), Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man) and Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury) are all catching up on him! Hugh Jackman claims his next movie as Wolverine will be his last, which is terribly sad. On the bright side, there's a rumor about the movie getting an R-Rating, which is exactly what we need for a Wolverine movie!

4. He's been offered roles in 5 other superhero movies!

According to IMDb.com, Hugh Jackman was offered roles in "Daredevil (2003), Hulk (2003), Iron Man (2008), Mr. Fantastic in Fantatic Four (2005) and Jonathan Kent in Superman Returns (2006)". The strange thing is, I could see him as Daredevil, probably because how gruesome both Daredevil and Wolverine are.

5. He met his wife Deborra Lee Furness on the set of TV show "Correlli"

Correlli was a drama TV series that ran in 1995 for 10 episodes. This is where Hugh Jackman met his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness. They got married on April 11th in 1996, which means their 20 year anniversary just passed! Congratulations to Hugh Jackman on that one.

6. He used to have a huge crush on Olivia-Newton John in elementary school!

When he met Olivia-Newton John, he admitted that when he was in elementary school he had a picture of her underneath his desk and he would kiss it everyday! Sounds like an embarrassing story, but how could he keep that to himself!

7. He tackles skin cancer like a boss!

Skin cancer is one of the most common types of cancer in the world and Hugh Jackman is a good leader in promoting sun safety. Back in may 2015 he revealed he is likely to have more and will need check-ups every three months for the rest of his life. Let Hugh Jackman be a solid example to stay safe in the sun!

8. He has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!

Back in 2012, Jackman was presented with the 2,487th Hollywood Walk of Fame star! This is a huge honor in the movie business and he was accompanied by Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried too.

9. He's won tons of awards outside movies

In 2008, he was named as Sexiest Man Alive by People Magazine as he joins the ranks of winners like: Ryan Gosling and Ryan Reynolds. Also, in 2013 he was rated at the top of Most Powerful Actors List by Forbes. He has been nominated for numerous awards for all the shows he's done, especially the one that made him famous in 1998, 'Oklahoma'.

10. He's related to his stunt double!

For two of his big movies, X-Men: The Last Stand and Van Helsing, his brother-in-law played his stunt double! Richard Bradshaw is his sister's husband. Small world!
