The Comic Professor

The Season 1 Finale of Supergirl aired more than two weeks back. While most of CBS' shows have been renewed for the next season, Supergirl's fate still hangs in the balance. CBS are yet to renew Supergirl for a second season. But last night's Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. might have just confirmed that Supergirl is heading towards cancellation.

Some of you might be wondering what Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has to do with Supergirl because one of these two shows is developed by Marvel and ABC, while the other one is developed by DC and CBS. Well, let me explain!

If you carefully watched last night's episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., you may have noticed a familiar face. Briana Venskus was a part of the episode.

In last night's episode of the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Briana Venskus was seen playing the role of Agent Piper.

The scene led many to ask themselves, "Where have I seen her before?".

Briana Venskus played the recurring role of another agent on Supergirl. She was seen as Agent Vazquez of the D.E.O., in as many as 12 episodes of the first season.

Now, why would DC and CBS let one of their cast members go find some other role on a show that's developed by both DC and CBS' rivals in the same season, unless they are pretty much sure that there's no chance of Supergirl coming back for a second season? If there is going to be a second season, D.E.O. is going to play a part in the storyline. And if D.E.O. is going to be there, so will Agent Vazquez. So, it wouldn't make sense for DC to let go of one of their actors and just let them join Marvel.

Do you think Supergirl will be renewed for a second season? Let us know what you think.
