Now that Kit Harington's fate has been revealed on Game of Thrones, after months and months of secrecy, nothing can stand in the way of him shouting his opinions from the rooftops.
Firstly, he apologized for lying this entire time and then he went on to provide behind-the-scenes snippets of information regarding his 'LC' code name on set. Now though, the British actor has gone even further into discussing how it was to keep the fate of Jon Snow so heavily under wraps for almost a year.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Kit revealed that he had to pretend with the cast and crew that his character had actually died at the end of season 5. Putting on a brave face, he had to make them believe that he was indeed gutted to be written off the show. Speaking of the time, he said:
"At first I though I would find it fun. This will be a fun game."
However, as the weeks passed by, maintaining such a long-term lie began to take its toll:
"I had to lie to a lot of close friends and cast members and crew. The longer it went, the more I felt like I was betraying them."
Finally, he gave in:
"I did end up letting people in, slowly."
As for the reactions, Harington admits that they were mixed. Liam Cunningham, for example, outright told him to 'f*ck off' while Sophie Turner was so overcome with emotion that she wrote him a long letter about how much she loved working with him.
For once, it appears Jon Snow really knew more than everyone else!
