The ultimate superhero throwdown is upon us. Team Cap vs. Team Iron Man will face off in one epic battle to prove who indeed is right in this superhero conflict. We have seen both Captain America and Iron Man grow in their respective films. Fans are torn between who’s right and who’s wrong and we will see two popular Avengers go hand to hand against one another.

A new featurette has surfaced online thanks to JoBlo that focuses heavily on the conflict of the heroes. You can check out this brand new featurette in the video below:

While there’s really nothing new to gauge from this feature, it does give us a better indication that this film will focus heavily on the story between Steve Rogers and his best friend and former WWII ally, Bucky Barnes. As we saw at the end of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Steve is tasked with finding his friend. This immediately sets up the internal conflict between the Avengers, particularly Steve Rogers and Tony Stark.

The video also touches on the past experiences that Rogers has had with the government. Marvel CEO Kevin Feige mentions how Rogers at one time did follow authority figures, such as his time during WWII. However, after the World Security Council sent out the nuclear bomb towards New York City against Nick Fury’s wishes and Hydra's infiltration of S.H.I.E.L.D., Rogers can no longer believe in the government’s factions. Rogers is at odds with the government whereas Stark believes that superheroes need to be held responsible for their actions.

The Russo brothers also bring up the idea that this movie is not about heroes vs. villains, but rather friend against friend or brother against brother. There is no clear-cut villain in this movie for the heroes to fight even though there are two: Crossbones and Baron Zemo. The brothers wanted to keep this film ingrained within the heroes themselves and force audiences to pick a side.

It’s rather difficult, however, to do this because the Marvel Cinematic Universe has done such a fantastic job of developing all of these characters. Iron Man and Captain America are arguably the most developed heroes of the bunch, which makes it very difficult to side with one over the other.

Actor Chris Evans says it beautifully when he mentions that:

“There’s no clear evil villain on either side of this. It’s just a matter of who you agree with. That’s just what makes it such a good conflict. You know it’s not enemy versus hero. It’s friends, it’s family.”

Cap couldn’t have said it any better than this. Audiences have to expect going in that even though they may choose a side, they are still going to understand both sides of these conflicts. While one may choose or , fans will still feel torn with their choices. It’s not a matter of who’s right, but rather how the heroes can resolve their differences in the end.

Captain America: Civil War opens in the US today and I absolutely cannot wait to see this film! Are you ready to witness the ultimate superhero showdown? Are you or ? Sound off in the comment section below and let me know!
